I agree the illegals and fraudulent CDL drivers should be tracked down and removed immediately. For your observation of commercial vehicle operations let me educate you a little from someone with 30+ years and 4.2 million miles with out ticket or incident. The legitimate professional drivers do their job very well and you could not function without them. You don’t have a clue what it takes to safely operate a 40 ton vehicle. 90+% of the close calls I have experienced have been due to careless operations or distractions of non commercial vehicles. You should seek out a professional driver to ride with for a day and see what they have to put up with. Just like government throwing more laws and restrictions at commercial vehicles is not the fix. Learning how to share the road and driving in a responsible manner is the key

As long as you are an owner operator or your company allows it you can have a firearm in a CDL vehicle. I’m from Il and if any state would find a way to infringe on 2A rights it’s here. I’ve taught CDL and am also a truck owner. Our company attorney has verified there is no federal motor carrier statute that addresses this. Do your own research
