It's irony. Throwing it back in the faces of those who brought it on. The silent, "I hope you're happy, you Sons of Bitches, for throwing this on us."

If you want to bribe them with your own cash, go right ahead. But as a taxpayer, I prefer my public servants, the ICE agents, whom I pay already, to scoop them up as rapidly and conspicuously as possible and extradite with expedience. Make it obvious that it would be preferable to leave while still under the radar, rather than get caught up in the vacuum cleaner. No rewards for ceasing to do what they should never have been doing.

Think about it. He will always be the "45th" president, even after death. Just like Biden will always be the 46th. And Obama the 43rd and 44th. You can't have your place in the historical record erased (normally).

A "confirmation" does not begin with "I wonder what woud happen if..." This is only an intriguing conjecture that may have some substance. This would set up a quid pro quo between the Biden Regime and the Zelensky Regime (really hard to say that either person is more than a puppet): you get rid of my problem and we'll get rid of your problem.

Russia also has an excellent class of submarines optimized for cruise missile delivery. You would be surprised (hair-raising) at how much of our population and industry and military installations are within a hundred miles of either coastline.

Nothing against the post---different (but related) comment.

Since Twitter became X, the URLs are behaving differently. I've noticed on this board that if you click on an X URL, two pages open to that subject. Without fail. Has anyone else experienced this? No real problem, just a mystery.

The "next ten or twenty years" are wonderful, but what are you going to do tomorrow while the train is rushing down upon us? You may be lucky to be alive in the next ten or twenty years, and you certainly won't be in office.

I like this guy. A good starting point. My thinking has been to-and-fro on the subject. The "debate" was so inept, as a debate, that it almost amounts to putting a bear and a tiger together to clash, and call it a "debate."

But the point that becomes clearer to me is that I see a lot of commentators lamenting that "Trump took the bait" and defended himself. I didn't feel there was anything wrong in his handling of the situation, and now I am growing opposed to that criticism. This criticism comes from the theoretical ideologues who are impatient that their favorite talking points are not in the forefront, with the eloquence they desire. But the criticism also stands on a moral flaw: submit to slander without opposition, and thereby give credence to the slander. Well, that is simply bullshit. The critics do not understand street fighting---which is how Trump looks at these debates. Remember, his favorite conflict sport is NOT chess, but boxing. To allow any slander to prevail just shows that you are a wimp, either incapable of defending yourself, or unwilling to defend yourself. Both possibilities incite disdain. To respond and refute slander is to neutralize it. Time is lost, but not one's "street credibility." I don't call it "he fell for the bait." I call it "he didn't let that slip by."

The ideologues maintain that what is at issue is a choice between policies. They are blind. What is at issue is a choice between CANDIDATES, who are more than a collection of policies. We want TRUMP, not some policy wonk with spectacles and a pocket protector. (Full disclosure, I wear glasses and used to have a pocket protector.) We loathe Harris. Why? Yes, because Trump has definite policies that we would support. We don't know what policies she will attempt to follow. Why also? Because we KNOW Trump would follow through, because we see him in the ring. Because we KNOW Kamala Harris is a lowlife invertebrate. Policy concerns are worthless if the candidate is a worthless person.

So, I don't go along with this "he took the bait" criticism. Defending one's honor against slander is an absolute requirement. If you don't do that, you have no honor. You are just a nerd. I don't want a nerd, I want a champion. That's what I am voting for.

Uh...if this post self-identifies as a fake, what is it doing here?

If they do, that will invite a challenge to the legitimacy of the ballots collected. I'm not saying either way, except that if this disadvantages Trump, they will not go down without a fight.

The growth of air traffic over the past decades has been dramatic. And jet aircraft are flying at higher altitudes, which have higher relative humidity, which will cause contrails to persist. But ask your local air traffic control center if there is any reason for what you are seeing. As for seeing stars, that has become more difficult generally on account of increased illumination of cities as they become larger and roads and neighborhoods are extended. (When I moved to my present location in 1978, the local population was 17,000. Today it is 101,000. Lots of cityshine if there are any clouds at all.)

Absolutely correct. And this means that NATO (U.S.) would open the door to tit-for-tat targeting by Russian systems. U.S. bases on European soil (e.g., Germany) would be logical targets.

Known by whom? On the basis of what? Nothing unusual about a Jewish family choosing a Jewish identity symbol dating to the 4th century, and officially recognized by the King of Bohemia in 1354.

I have not heard of exceptional changes in regional patterns. Certainly not in my region, for as long as I have been alive (73 years). California has been suffering drought, but California ALWAYS suffers drought to one degree or another. It is a characteristically arid region. Nothing has changed about the occurrence of hurricanes or tornadoes. We influence local weather conditions through the "heat island" syndrome, resulting from forest clearing and building and road construction. The Dust Bowl conditions of the midwest came and went well before the "climate change" was supposed to be happening.

So, I don't give much credence to "weather modification," unless you are talking about specific opportunities in a day or a week to attempt cloud seeding.

And, in general, the whole "climate change" theme is a complete fraud, with mendicant pseudo-scientists finding justifications for concluding a disaster is impending (and please send me more grant money). Lately, a major study has found that carbon dioxide concentration level follows temperature trends; it doesn't set them. Since a cause cannot be preceded by the effect, this blows the whole CO2 demonization program.

It is bullshit. If you want to believe in magic, that's up to you, but I don't have to give it any respect whatsoever, being a baptized Christian.

Lots of Monday-morning quarterbacking among those who don't spend much time in Trump's shoes. Many think he was being too restrained and defensive, but that doesn't seem to comport with the many times he declared that she and Biden were DESTROYING THE NATION. Surprisingly, she really didn't try to deny it, but just acted like he didn't say it.

I am thinking that the debate format was a pretext for Trump to establish "This is Me and that is Her." Implicitly: Do you want a guy who can call out the problems of the nation starkly and has the determination and track record to deal with them---or a coiffed poseur full of sneers and arrogance who helped create all the problems and can't be bothered to say anything definite?

The more I watch Trump, the more I begin to understand his method. He is, by nature, a fighter. There is something important about every fight, and is never to allow a slight to your honor to go unrefuted. If you just let it pass, then it shows everyone you are not manly enough to stand up for yourself. So, he never lets it pass. He never allows anyone to count coup over him. In part, that is his way of never letting them have the last word. This is not chess; it is boxing.

3
killerspacerobot 3 points ago +3 / -0

Well, Trump was confronting someone who is part of any cabal that arranged his assassination, and actively destroying the nation. He would be psychopathic not to be angry. Anger peaks up the adrenaline and reflexes. He was like a man in a boxing match.

1
killerspacerobot 1 point ago +1 / -0

Trump's remark to Sean Hannity following the debate is that when you beat somebody in the ring, the first thing they do afterward is to demand a repeat match. Trump's model of conflict is not chess, it is boxing.

Gee, I have a hymn number 666 in my church's hymnal. Does that mean it is Satanic? Or are you letting numerology go to your head?
