If you have 9 shares you won't get a warrant. If you have 19 shares you'll get 1 warrant.
For every 10 shares you hold, you get 1 Warrant.
With the Warrant you can either sell them or exercise them.
Say the stock goes up to 500$. You can exercise your Warrant to get one share for 32$.

My guess is the white hats have prepared for this. They wouldn't let everyone's 401k be destroyed.

If I (ME) had some stocks in the green with decent profits, I would sell them and then buy back in after the market goes down a bit.

For those unaware. Ryan Cohen CEO of GameStop announced a dividend that will be distributed to shareholders in the form of a Warrant. (Stock terms if you want to look them up)
The Warrants will be distributed on Oct 7th.
