IT pede here. That is a really weird fucking error. It means that the Internet knows that Gab points to Cloudflare, but Cloudflare doesn't know where Gab servers live.
DNS root servers (Google, Verizon, Cloudflare ironically, etc - Know where all the websites live.)
Cloudflare load balancer/CDN (Spreads the website traffic around the world)
More DNS (controlled by Gab)
Gab's root servers (where Gab lives).
That's a simplification. Basically, Parler's #4 was hosted on Amazon so they were able to just take them down. Gab's #3 is broken right now. Which is super rare.
looks like they just posted an update that they were working on something!
thanks for the info.
would there be any benefit to me running my own DNS server in case google decides to fuck around? forgive me if i'm fundamentally misunderstanding something
Here we go dns attack

can you explain a little further to the less tech pedes how this is different than Parlers AWS hosting being cut.
AFAIK gab runs their own infrastructure instead of relying on AWS - were their servers attacked or is this something else?
Sure.

However it's still an incredibly weird error.
Gab team says it's backend work. Back up shortly.
Maybe switching stuff around
I also got this error
Removed. This was post several times very recently. Thank you for understanding.
So cloudfare is refusing to find the domain manually?
Might have been taken out at the DNS level.
Yes, same here.
Yup
Yeah its down
