I previously thought the necessary scare event was COVID. I got a little nervous a couple times but otherwise just extremely pissed off and supremely annoyed and wondered often “Is this REALLY necessary? Because it’s causing a whole bunch of seemingly irreparable damage to our entire society on many many levels”.
Now THIS...THIS is a scare event! Haven’t been this scared...maybe ever. And yes I can now see the necessity of it.
