This black history month I choose to remember Mr. Johnson. An African American who profited by running a plantation in the US. A pioneer of his time, when he saw hard work that needed to be done he didn't think twice about it. Mr. Johnson reinvented modern farming by enslaving his fellow Africans and made them do it.
That's right a black man started this whole shit show. So this month, let's all remember not just any black man, but the black man that changed the world for hundreds of years the "First slave owner in America" Anthony MotherFucking Johnson.
Isnt it like 42% of Jewish families owned 98% of the slaves, even though jewish population was only 1.2% americans?

Average lifespan of a slave in the Kingdom of Dahomey was approx. four months following capture. Ironically, slaves in the New World had a life expectancy many times longer than that of their slave brethren in Africa. You're welcome. As someone who identifies as black, I am saddened by what my ancestors had to go though. But thankful they got to America. I can’t imagine what my life would be like in Africa, I’d have a much more significant chance of still to this day being sold off as a slave.

This whole section is historically accurate & not controversial among historians. However, when Hollywood was going to make a film of the book, they said You CANNOT show African slave traders. Period. So the film was never made
But you only get one short month to tell the truth about everything! Then we go back to the standard narrative that says white Europeans invented racism, slavery, torture, warfare, debt, and everything else that has negatively impacted our world.
And still today there is slavery in Africa. If they were so against it they would move back to their country and demand a stop to it. But there is no money in it for them so they stay here and keep stirring the race pot.
I spent 7 years in Saudi Arabia. There’s still slaves there, in Yemen and probably most Arab nations. They get them from Eastern Africa. It totally depends who gets them insofar as how they’re treated. Many are treated well and the custom is the slaves children are set free and have citizenship rights. Generally though, if you’re black you are always second class citizen and the racism is pretty wide open. I would venture though that most are treated horribly as you can imagine. It’s really a statement on humanity as a whole irregardless of nationality. What bugs the shit out of me is how good overall blacks have it in America and could care less.

I mention it because I can only find sketchy sources from white power groups or blog sites when I have seen this claim in the past. If there is a real historian with documentary evidence on this then I'd like to read it. Boat names with owner names.
I havent watched it yet, I'll check it out. However I really wanted an answer to the boat transportation ownership question and also serious historian's discussions if any exist on the matter.
