B-2 was in the lead for super bowl in formation with a B-1B and B-52 tonight to kick off the game. Normally could not care less about football, but I am a crew chief for one of those birds so I always enjoy seeing my work in the sky!

A flyover? Yeah. But this is kind of odd in a few ways.
First, it's usually a flight from a nearby base, and it's also usually 2-4 of the same type of aircraft from the same unit.
What you've got here is 3 different type of aircraft that cruise at different speeds making a trek over thousands of miles to link up in formation at a low altitude at the same time so they can all fly over a 1 acre spot at the exact same moment a pop star is hitting the end note for the national anthem.
In terms of planning and coordination, that was some crackerjack work pulling it all together to make it happen. But it also sent a military message: "We just put over 200 500lb bombs on the same spot... for funsies. On a Sunday."
A B2 by itself? I wouldn't consider that out of the ordinary for something like the Super Bowl. B52 by itself? bit of a stretch as most of the B52s that are flying are older than me and I'm 44. But before tonight I can't remember ever seeing a B1B flyover outside of an air show at a military base and yes, having all three together like that is DEFINTELY out of the ordinary.
Wasn't it just wasting tax payer money to have jets motivate the crowd when Trump did it? They denied trump and the military the honor and dignity of a parade for petty spiteful reasons while they are literally using the military as human shields and political pawns.
