Inhaler refill prices $100 -> $800... Someone should tell this lady she should try to find someone online who will send her insulin from Mexico... or go down to Mexico herself. I've had chronic appendicitis for 4 years and my dad has had it for decades because appendectomies here cost 30-200k. They cost $500 in Korea. If your appendix bursts in the US and you don't have insurance, you're screwed :\ I'm waiting a few years to get it because I can manage the symptoms through diet. Medical costs have gotten so ridiculous I actually save money and get a long vacation by travelling to other countries...
travelling to other countries means you will be quarantined when you get there plus a lot of airlines now want you to prove you had the vaccine. Even after that it is illegal to bring medicines back from another country.
