In honesty, we know that the real point of it all is to prevent him from being president again, so they're not going to worry about things like law or the Constitution. Makes me wonder if they're not really afraid that he might overturn the election via the courts so they're trying desperately to tag him with something to make him unable to return to the presidency.
Not sure any of this matters anyway. It's already been done and this is more of a show for us because the Dems don't know the old system is over.

Yep. And they will probably continue, and what they attempt will probably be of worse character each time. They've tried every weapon they have, and nothing has worked, but the quality of the attacks is getting worse as they run out of tools. This impeachment was a shambles so we can probably expect something even shamblier to come.
They'll just hold a simple majority vote to decide the Constitutionality of it of course.
I saw this earlier and thought, it'll never be over. The Dems will try and try again until the swamp is wiped out. Hoping good things are coming. I believe the election will be turned. Doesn't make any sense that it just won't be addressed.
Trump did not "Engage" in Insurrection as Section 3 explicitly states.
He was impeached on "Inciting" an insurrection and acquitted.
Does one not have to be found "guilty" of ENGAGING in insurrection for section 3 to apply?

Wouldn't prosecuting him for supposedly inciting an insurrection when he's already been acquitted of that very crime be double jeopardy, and thus a violation of the fifth amendment?

Think about that would a real insurrection be televised to the world with cameras on the front line? I read somewhere that the chief of the capital Police resigned and left a letter to Pelosi because he had reached out to her and other senior leader ship requesting national guard at least 10,000 troops for January 6 up to 10 times he was denied by the speaker and others in charge. Mark Meadows even said the president had the national guard on standby and offered to send them in prior to Jan 6th.... so it was all staged it was all set up and I’m sure the FBI and others have proof so if it does get that far it’s going to backfire. My question is why that evidence wasn’t presented in the impeachment trial why did Lindsey Graham only threaten him with the evidence and not let the lawyers present it probably because of the implicates several of them.
I read the letter and it’s a brutal shoutout to how incompetent the Mayor, Pelosi and the DoD were. Mayor refused extra troops. Pelosi did too for the Capital police. When the riots started, the Chief desperately pleaded for National Guard backup but was delayed for 3 hours over optics and running it up the flagpole. Then Pelosi told that guy to fall on his sword and take the blame, which he did but wrote a 6 pg letter calling them out.
I'm sure they'd get the 50 votes (all the Dems) and #HeelsUpHarris to break the tie. But I think Mittens would also vote yes, as well as a few other RINOs.
I just wonder how it would how up to SCOTUS scrutiny if Trump tried to run anyway. He was NOT convicted by the Senate of inciting the riot so how could they justify banning him for engaging in insurrection?

I tend to agree with you. If anything, Trump was just found legally innocent of any wrong doing. Can't apply the 14th here but thanks for more ammo when the tides turn.

I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Biden is an illegitimate president. I suspect, very very strongly, that our Congress is also illegitimate. I think they are terrified that President Trump will show the evidence to the masses who will then demand recounts for ALL races! When that happens, many will be kicked out of office due to fraud.
So they are scrambling to find any bit of sewage they can fling in order to dirty up everyone else and hide their own filth. This won't be the last desperate attempt to harm our rightful president.
Be wary and keep your heads on a swivel. WE WILL BE VICTORIOUS, but they will try to take down as many as possible on their way to hell so stay focused, frens.
