My guess is, they were hoping one of them had gotten instructions from their overlords as to how to deal with this. Assurance to cover them against this. Apparently the overlords are busy putting out other fires atm.

"Executive Session" is the official term for when a board meets with just the board members and the public aren't allowed to attend.
