I just wonder why others in her generation are so gullible.

People are under a fear spell. It makes them vulnerable to suggestion. It is our job to break that spell with patience and presentation of well researched arguments.
KGB did studies that 2 months of bombarding people with fear messages is what it takes to get them to believe the message. KInda coincides with January they started corona stuff then march shut down.
Maybe the cure is to turn off the TV.
My mother, also a retired RN (76) was afraid. She's a Trump supporter, reads Epoch Times, knows the media lies, but I couldn't convince her not to take the shot. She is also (I think) believes I've gotten sucked into the QAnon cult. Her brother got pulled into Scientology so I sort of understand her being really skeptical.
Ugh...that's tough.
There are a wealth of Q/Trump proofs that you could show her. Besides, what kind of cult espouses thinking for yourself, research, and the "leader" is anonymous?
Although I'm not entirely on board with QAnon, I don't think it's a "cult." On the contrary, I love the analytical minds here.

Maybe you're new but there's no such thing as "Qanon". There's Q and there are anons. Not trying to be confrontational but I refuse to use the normie terminology.

You have a smart mom. Six weeks ago, my dear 91 y.o. mother, on her death bed, asked if I thought she was contagious, as one sister always wore a mask. Mom had recently lost her senses of taste & smell, but she had been home for a month with minimal visitors. I asked Mom, "Contagious with what, death? Yes it is contagious. We are all going to die." She actually laughed. This was within 2 days of her death. Very peaceful, in her own home, in her bed, on her terms. So blessed to be with her for her last days.

My grandfather would say your mom has "horse sense", something that is lost to many people today. The free factor should be enough to alarm anyone, but then add the fact that they use Presidents, actors/actresses, musicians, "health experts" and others to push the narrative so hard.
