I went to join but I was asked for a telephone number so I could verify.... that I won’t do....

I'm out of the loop, but surely there must be a way an "easy" way to spoof a cellular number these days to sign up for web services? Especially since you have your backend covered so well.
Asking sincerely, as I probably share your level of concern, but these days lack the time. Plus Im pretty ignorant of all things cellular.
Well yeah, but did you try it on Frank? :)
I'll be honest, I didn't think as far ahead as actually interacting via a spoofed account.
Spitballing more because I find it interesting, but there must be some out of the box fake # services around. Surely they're inadequate if they're public services. How about services that give legit cloud base phone #s, like Google Voice (but obviously not)? Could one utilize those in conjunction with bluestacks or similar?
Makes a ton of sense. Thanks for the insight.
Guess a good analogy would be popular VPN IP usage being banned from access as well.
Thanks.
I was just reading his post thinking "I wish I was as fantastic as this guy."
Instead I use Brave and Duckduckgo and am a ghost online, but not for someone real who would want to find me. Sigh. Lazy....
It's not for everyone. Mostly the facebook twitter crowds.
Genuinely asking how you think it "looks like shit" if all it currently has on it is a streaming video?
Yeah, they clearly had to strip down the website in reaction to cyber attacks.
My point was mostly rhetorical.
And edit: tbf, a shitty logo on a blank page would have revolutionarily clean web design in 2001.
Cheers.
Time and money
During the 48 hour video stream period, sign ins are postponed till the 48 hours are up I tried to sign in but "page not found" but Mike explained that registration will open up tomorrow.
Listen I love Mike Lindell, but this whole thing has kind of been embarrassing. Whoever he hired to do the website is an absolute joke. How can they not for-see having a massive amount of people login the first day? How do they only build the platform on drupal which is impossible to scale and make it a generic magazine template.
It also makes look bad when he says he is building a website to rival amazon. I get that you have to start somewhere but this just shows how out of touch they are with tech. It also feels like he is biting off way more than he can chew. How is one man supposed to make something that rivals 2 of the largest companies on this planet while not knowing anything about tech or not hiring the right people.
UNLESS they purposely slapped together a crappy website to create it as a honeypot because they knew they would be attacked. Who knows.
He does make some awesome pillows and great documentaries though.
I’m a developer and this part makes me sad. Not only is this drupal, the agency/developer who built this links to their site which is a generic square space site and he doesn’t even have their own domain.. it’s just the default one that you get when you spin up hosting.

Maybe it's more about gathering steam and less about actual function? I don't know, but I'm with you- it's some nonsense. Which is part of why I'm thinking maybe it's less about the site and more about it being a thing? Who knows. But WordPress axed a bunch of political sites a few months back. Squarespace has done the same too. Maybe the point is to lose the site? To prove that even if we do something ourselves they'll still stop "us".
Agreed. I am a software engineer. We have interns that can do a much better job over a weekend. There are plenty of us who would help out. I know UX designers that would design a beautiful UI for his apps. What I see thus far gives me the sads. Maybe there is more to this that we don't know about?
While registering, Error 520? I’m patient. They’re here to stay.
I haven’t had any issues, maybe try clearing your cache or temp int files and retry
Tried that didn't work. Verification code was sent to my phone but my page never made it to the page where you enter the code. I did get an email from them but the links in the email lead to the 502 error page. GRRRRRR! My husband got in fine.
Ok
Same. At least I was able to create an account. Yay!
I had it playing all day yesterday. I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm thankful for people like Mike Lindell and the others for being brave & not backing down. :)
I get an error 520 when registering. Site still under attack?
It’s a Drupal based website. Hardly social media. Very cringe
Am I missing something, it looks like click-baity news. I was under the impression people (like POTUS/Flynn etc) could post their thoughts directly, like Twitter.
I'm confused as well. Lindell made it sound like it would be a combination of YouTube and Twitter where everyone can post videos and share their thoughts, yet it's more of an article-based site.
Did he say what the site will be like after the first 48? I'm just seeing news articles and videos etc. Thought we were goign to be able to make profiles and write posts like twitter etc. I'm sure thats coming this is prob a temp site after getting attacked?
?
POTUS was banned from Twitter months ago. Many right wingers have been banned as well. It's why Trump has been releasing formal statements...Not tweeting...the fact that you apparently didn't know that makes me sincerely question your intentions here.
wanting my phone #, That is just a big NO from me. An e-mail address is enough. No way, given the hacking and state of internet security will I give out a phone # which is personally identifiable information. something smells fishy with this.
I had issues getting registered, kept getting 520 page after many attempts. Left the 520 screen up walked away from computer for an hour. Came back and the page had refreshed to the registration complete page. Although, the 'Log Out' icon is present and persistent in the upper right hand corner of page and seems theres no way to actually Log In.
They killed the site
Math Problem for confirmation 17+1=
Anyone else have this?
exact same question I got. Then I got an error that said it "website encountered an unexpected error" so I signed up again, got the same math question again, 17+1, then it registered. It says I'm logged in but I can't post, comment, etc. This thing is far from usable.
Mike announced that sign up is paused for today. I wish they would just take the sign up page down!
Where is the number they sent me by text supposed to go? Usually I dont give a phone number, but considering Lindell and all he has done, I did. Now I am unsure
Just tried to register and failed, no confirmation text but a useless email containing "confirmation" links that can't get past cloudflare. but I can access the main site, but cannot log on or change password.
Similar shite to when I tried to register with 107's site, both of which have my personal data but won't give me anything in return.
I don't understand how people think they are being so 'secure' by not using their phone #. Have you ever applied for a job, especially a technical one, welcome to being flooded by the bombay job squad for months or years on end. Own a business with your phone # on your website, welcome to getting spam galore calls ALL THE TIME. Even doing a random phone # check with various spam call sites, you can see who owns the #. Someone knowing your number doesn't mean jack now a days, and for all you younger people, there was a book that was published 1-2 times a year with everyone's name and number......
Rotate your email addresses, or use throw aways, but sorry friend your phone # is out in the wild whether you want to admit it or not.
After reading all the comments and btw thank you, I'm going to hang tight for a few more days to see how this all works out. I don't like to hear they want a phone #. All the recent sites created asked for one and got hacked. As far as professionally created, sounds like it's not, something fishy about that. Lindell is not an idiot and I don't believe the rest of them want to be thought of that way either.
I think your part of a coordinated shill campaign. Looks and smells like wumao over here.
