We tried to do interventions, nothing worked, now I’m headed to the hospital, she’s on a ventilator but her heart stopped for 20 mins. They think she’ll have significant brain damage. Please pray for her.

They’re running me out of the hospital with their 7am-7pm covid rules. We won’t know much more for a couple of days. They are doing cooling treatments to try to preserve her brain. Please keep her in your prayers

I've dealt with a child having a serious brain injury. Approx 72 hour wait for the brain to stop swelling and then you can learn more about how much damage has been done.
It's an excruciatingly long wait.
Hopefully she was receiving CPR for the whole time her heart stopped.

Praying for full and complete recovery, and wisdom, guidance and compassion for her doctor and the other staff. (and an admin with the intestinal fortitude to buck the system forced on them by 'covid' rules! :P)

A few yrs ago (at 21) I had a severe stroke, needed brain surgery, and CAT scans at the time showed that almost all of my left cerebellum had died. Drs thought I would have irreversible brain damage and never walk or talk again. I spent a month in rehab and learned how to walk again. A few months after the stroke, I had a CAT scan that showed most of my cerebellum had healed and my Dr said there was literally no explanation but a miracle and he’d never seen this before. A couple months after that, I went to graduate school and successfully completed my masters.
Stay strong and support her through any physical therapy she may need. Miracles do happen!

I have a family friend who was declared brain dead. They withdrew interventions, he awoke and left the hospital with no obvious deficits. Lots of prayers went up for him.

I pray that my words are Holy Ghost driven and that the overdose was exactly what she needed in order to turn herself around when she comes out of it. Remember that Jesus brought people back from the dead. Not even drugs can have power over her outside of God's will. She can come out of it clean as a whistle because that's the God we serve. Lose not your faith, brother. I pray in Jesus name that as Jesus said himself:

I will pray for your daughter. I know you will be by her side so keep talking to her and keep telling her to stay strong. I have a friend who was recently in a similar drug OD scenario, doctors also projected brain damage, friends heart also stopped beating (and was clinically.. well, I don’t wanna say it but you know) and friend told me that he had no option but to stay strong during the fight and he has recovered. No brain damage, just some loss of historical memory.

Thanks everyone. She had two kids 1 and 2 years old. She was 24. Addiction is a horrible thing. It takes so much and gives nothing back
It’s horrible & unfortunately so many know the pain. My niece overdosed at 25. She had two little ones that were 3 years & 2 1/2 weeks at the time She wasn’t a regular user but went on a weekend binge with cocaine. Then several years later my son started using opiates. He refused treatment for a long time. In December he hit pretty low & we were finally able to talk him into treatment. Addiction has no boundaries.
I pray The Father blesses your daughter and works his miracle on her. May The Father bring peace and comfort in your heart and lets you know Him and His Son are with you and your family in your time of need!
