I bring it up all the time. No flu is huge news. Covid-19 cured the flu!
I usually don't even get a response. People just go away to somewhere safe in their minds, I guess.

Actually have a neighbour down the road that believes that...and he's a teacher! I said, "yeah, just like the Patriot Act defeated terrorism." Meh..same shit, different day.
I always assumed they counted all flu cases (along with motorcycle crashes and stab wounds) as COVID-19. It doesn't necessarily mean the illnesses are identical.
TBF, people locked down and wearing masks everywhere would probably diminish spread of the flu

Masks and lockdown did NOT stop shit. The flu still ran rampant, they just changed the name to the scary "covid-19".

I'm thinking there were a lot of false positives where people didn't even have anything. Those would be all the "asymptomatic" people. I'm sure covid is real but it's not any worse than the flu. Money played a huge role in the insane false numbers we had.
Also, do you think vaccines play a role in the flu season? I noticed the flu shot was not being pushed at all this last year because it was all covid covid covid.
Just some food for thought.

Masks don't do shit. In Asian countries they've worn them ever since SARS.
I had two people come in to see me and sit right next to me once, both wearing masks and sniffling and coughing. I asked them to sit farther away since I was about to take a trip to the US and can't afford the doctors there with no insurance.
They said "DON'T WORRY, WE'RE WEARING MASKS!".
I had a cold or flu or some kind of shit the next day. Luckily I had time to go to the local doctor to get some medicine before the flight.
People here think masks work, so when they're sick they just wear masks and go out anyway instead of staying home. Then, everyone around them gets sick and they still think masks work...
They laugh at me when I tell them this story.

The reason we see low flu numbers is the fact that gross people started washing their hands for the first time in their entire lives.
I guarantee you disgusting never handwashers didn't magically start washing their hands because they were told to.

There was flu. The CDC just said they weren't reporting it this year.
CDC charts still have influenza. It's added to covid and pneumonia numbers, PIC on their charts.
I had the flu, however it is harder for a virus to spread if you stay home sick. For the first time in my 35 years it wasn't friwned upon to stay home sick... it was encouraged.
Colds are far more infectious, because they're not deadly. So the cold stayed but flu dropped way down.
