So yesterday I walked into the front of a large local pharmacy in a small town. Most of the customers were not wearing masks, nor were the cashiers. The manager was not wearing a mask, had a broad smile on her face, and welcomed me to the store. Everyone in the front of the store looked upbeat and happy to be mask free.
When I go to the back of the store, where the actual pharmacy is, the atmosphere was completely different. EVERYONE getting prescriptions is wearing a mask and waiting solemnly, including a woman with her young son. The pharmacist and the staff are all wearing masks. No one says a word, and no one looks happy.
It's the first time I ever noticed major differences in mask wearing with large groups of people IN THE SAME STORE. That's when it occurred to me - the people who wore the mask identify with being sick. Their self-perception is reinforced by the mask wearing, as well as a sense of compliance. The health care workers wear the mask out of a false sense of wanting to "be safe" around the patients, despite no logical reason to do so, other than habit. It's these last two groups that may be the toughest to convince that they don't have to carry the persona associated with illness with them.
Exactly. It's called secondary gain. They get attention and other needs met by being "sick."
Stockholm syndrome
THIS^
The virtue signalers make up another group that will be difficult to convince because, based on what I've read, many now feel the face diaper is part of who they are. Given their behavior toward others about masks, they're not a happy bunch either.
"what I've read, many now feel the face diaper is part of who they are"
Omg, stupid idiots!!
I know? I can't even imagine identifying as a face diaper, but it seems some are.
I'm completely ok with the virtue signallers doing this for the rest of their lives.
Yes.
That's why I refuse to go to any "doctors" that are wearing masks.
Why take advice from morons who can't read the manufacturer box, or have no awareness of sizes of particles and fabric inability to stop them.
All those MasQuarading fools and theirZZ jobs, and theirZ "stay safe" nonsense will make their own jobs obsolete.
Boycott all ClowNzZ!
I have a couple family members that one might consider hypochondriacs. They embrace their illnesses but than are miraculously cured. They are the first ones at the hospital when other family members are admitted. They are like MD and RN wannabes and argue with medial staff. When someone else is sick, they go overboard to help and immerse themselves in whatever medical situation is occurring. Did you hear about so and so who has lupus? or whatever. It’s the strangest thing, they are obsessed with illness. They wear the mask
I also noticed this in Lowes many months ago, when in the household items area, all the white collar homeowner types are masked up and compliant with the rules, however, on the other side of the store - the contractor side, with lumber, etc, no one is wearing a mask. The blue collar guys that work outside mostly, do physical labor... they don't care about masks or some crap pandemic. Luckily our Lowes (and many other stores) did not enforce the county-wide mask mandate, so we never wore them, but I work in a construction related field and I have many builders as clients. Every time we go in there we see people we know and always joke about the masks.
Munchausen syndrome.
These people are sick.
Maybe they're just ugly like Rachel Levine, Hillary and Stacey Abrams, so they like the mask.
Welcome to Conditioning
Do you all not remember pharmacies before covid? They are always low energy affairs filled with sick people getting prescriptions. Knowing what we know now about airborne illness, if I worked in a pharmacy with sick person after sick person coming in for meds, I think I would wear a mask too.
A lot of the people that still wear masks around our city are degenerates. They look like walking disease; many are flaming homosexual. I believe that they are immunocompromised due to their lifestyle behaviors, were convinced there is a Med for that the heterosexuals have to pay for them, and they are sick (in more ways than one). Not everyone but the majority I see. They realize they are the minority and You can tell they are democrats.
Great analysis! Agree completely
In Korea it's not even sick until proven healthy, it's sick no matter what. There's nothing you can say or do to convince others you are safe. It's driving me batty. Though, I'm immensely proud of my wife. Went into a packed restaurant, no one wearing masks while eating, manager was very distressed to see us and asked we should put on masks. She laughed at him, pointed at all the people without masks, he started nervously laughing and asked her again to put on a mask. She promptly turned around and told him to pound sand. He begged her to come back, said it's ok she doesn't need a mask. She waved him off.
Well maybe it's just because they're ugly.
