You are wrong.
This is not about the Church, this is about the governing, secular authorities.
Verse 6 and 7 make that clear as we do not pay taxes to the Church.
"This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor." Romans 13: 6-7
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Romans 13:1
"To condemn all people outside your own faith is ungodly."
John 14:6 NIV Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Jesus says exclusivity is His alone. Everyone without the covering of His blood is accountable to their own sins.
It won't work out for anyone.
Jesus is the ONLY way. He offers freedom from sin. We all stand condemned otherwise.

The quick story of the first trip into the city.
He took a "country boy" and put me in arguably the greatest city in the greatest nation in the world. Then He put a God sized love for Him and the people of the city into my human sized heart through the power of His Holy Spirit.
Thru thousands of hours and miles, I walked the streets of Chicago as He transformed me into an expert in urban ministry with Him. Blood, sweat, tears shed over this place.
Kicked from a 17ft. window head first for my preaching of the Gospel. 2 breaks in my neck, shattered writs, skull bust open, broken ribs, and teeth shattered. He picked me back up off the ground and told me to keep going.
It's all led to this.
I don't even live in Chicago anymore. He took me on mission to Indianapolis 4 years ago. And yet this love for the city has never faded and over the past couple years has exploded again in new ways.
I will not abandon the will of God in this place. Something (SomeOne) miraculous ties me to it.
This matters. OUR prayers matter. This place is not abandoned by God. The darkness is terrified of the light and He desires to shine brightly through the lives of the families of Chicago.
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21 NIV
People have no idea they are using after harvest.
I would like to believe people would go after these criminals if they knew but I fear that's the point of all this, a complacent population too sick to fight.
We must stand against evil wherever we encounter it. Constantly contending for the good of the Lord.
Tell me what Scripture you are trying to discern. I'm curious.
In my studies of the Scriptures, my walk on mission with Him, and basically life in general, I have found the more literal I hold what He says, the deeper the ride with Him goes in the greatest of ways.
Of course the Bible is FULL of all sorts of literary forms, but that is the Holy Spirit's depth and breadth. Parables are parables. Metaphors are metaphors. Etc.
I still take the Bible extremely literally. It is where I have grown so deep in my relationship with Him. Basically, I take God at His word.
Truly, trust the Holy Spirit with everything He says and asks of you.
Be alone with Him. Lead with repentance. Surrender your heart, your mind, your soul to the Lord. This is between you and Him.
I don't know what kind of music you listen to but their are nuances here that the churches refuse to acknowledge. I have seen blatant condemnation for those who listen to so-called "secular" music. I have heard the trope that "Christians should only listen to praise and worship music." It's funny though because they typically mean THEIR taste in praise and worship music.
Music is important. God created it. He loves it. But Satan attempts to corrupt ALL good things.
We are like sheep. We are pretty dumb and we are prone to wander. Ask Him, in faith, to keep you near--to protect you from the influences of the world. The Holy Spirit is with you always to keep you moving in sanctification. The Spirit desires only to make you more like Jesus...listen to Him.
I am confused by trying to "quiet your mind." What Scripture are you pointing to for this?
Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. Psalm 131:2
For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation Psalm 62:1
I do not ever seek to quiet my mind, but this may be a word issue between us presently. However, I do quiet my soul before God, but the Holy Spirit is the one who does this.
Life is too hectic, too evil, too fast, too chaotic. I DEPEND on Him to slow me down, focus my soul and life--to keep me focused on Him so I can do the things He asks me to do.
This is about surrendering.
My life, my will, my emotions, my wants.
Often times I am the one making the noise inside my own life. Don't get me wrong, the side of the Accuser loves to hurl accusations and condemnation at me but I know, believe, and hear the promises of Jesus--there is no condemnation for those who are in Him.
Therefore, it comes down to simply a few things.
We either need to surrender our lives further to Him. We have too much inside of ourselves and the burden becomes too heavy. He says His load is light though. I have to give it all over to Him.
Or we need to battle in the Spirit against the enemy who seeks to distract us from the goodness of God.
He is faithful in these circumstances and every one beyond these. Turn to Him in earnestness and trust. Know that He has an amazing plan for your life. Trust the Holy Spirit to show you the way and do not quench Him when He asks things of you.
Jesus died and rose again 3 days later having conquered sin and death. There is no condemnation for you in Jesus. You have to surrender your life to Him.
As it stands you are an enemy of God because you cling to your sins as your own. You meet forgiveness from them. He offers it freely.
I can tell you've never read the Bible. God loves to interact with His creation.
Acts 2:17-18 NIV [17] “ ‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. [18] Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
1 Kings 3:5 NIV [5] At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”
Genesis 32:28, 30 NIV [28] Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.” [30] So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, “It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.”
Hebrews 13:2 NIV [2] Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
Acts 1:10-11 NIV [10] They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. [11] “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”
I know that without faith in Jesus you struggle to understand all this. If you give Him your life though and accept the free gift of salvation He will open a whole new world to you.
If you call me a con man you are calling the Holy Spirit a conman too.
Matthew 12:31 NIV [31] And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
Luke 23:34 NIV [34] Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
Why are you so unwilling to believe He loves you enough to die for you?
Repentance is a choice you must choose or die in your sins.
Eternity without Him is beyond words. You need to surrender your life to Jesus' will and control. He is Lord of all.

Satan has your soul friend. Jesus is the only way forward. Repentance is the first step. He loves you immensely and is calling for you to surrender your sinful life to Him.

It was a miracle on the train a few weeks ago. He has given us the land if we so desire to seize it. It's wide open.
Are Christians so afraid that they refuse to go to the places the Holy Spirit has given them?
It's sad few trust Him enough to follow where He is leading. It's surrendering to God. That's all. Jesus has every detail of life attended to for each of us.

There is a reason Jesus warned us.
If you understand Satan, reality, and especially God....the war we are in is unchanging. God doesn't change, Satan's schemes are the same, the LORD is in charge of it all.
Time is an illusion to us. Theory of relativity proves that time can be bent by velocity.
All that to say, the book of Revelation is special. Those 7 letters to His beloved Church are vastly important. They exist outside of time.
There is a reason Jesus warned us about the opposition. He promised us that we would not be left unaware of Satan's schemes. Especially at the end of the age of grace, when the world would be at a fever pitch of evil under Satan's lame duck regime.
This is who Satan is, this is what he is allowed to do. We are admonished regularly by the Lord to not be deceived.
If we focus on Jesus, the reality of everything comes into perfect clarity. Reality comes into perfect focus.
He showed us the way. And sealed it with the promise of His Holy Spirit doing greater things than He did.

What should be one of the largest celebrations every year passes with barely being acknowledged. The gift of the Holy Spirit is the most amazing gift God could give humanity.
He lives inside of us. He gives us His power and authority to use for His work. He guides our every step if we invite Him to be the Lord of our lives.
