Exactly! The want kids to transition before their puberty hormones hit. Even when they hit it is a confusing time, changing from a little kid to a maturing teen.
They cannot possibly know what it is like to be their current sex until that all happens.
Not to mention you need those hormones for other aspects of biological health.
If a woman doesn’t have enough estrogen when she’s in her teens and twenties, she’s at much greater risk for osteoporosis and circulatory issues. Young women transitioning can absolutely harm their long term health.
Same with men and testosterone. Puberty isn’t just about becoming “mature;” it sets off a lot of biological processes that are essential for a healthy body throughout your life.
Certainly writes like a 12-year-old.
I'm confused just reading that. I don't know what many of them are or what it means for a prepubescent child pushed to define them selves.
And I'm Sixty (60) freakin years old!
I did steal a playboy mag from my neighbors garage, it was in his trash can.
Hustler was the hardcore in the early 70's.
Honestly can't even imagine being that age, and growing through my teen years in today's world. What a nightmare.
In short, I blame the parents. "Take away their phone" is likely the best solution I've heard yet. These parents must be all stars.
That's so funny - I was on another thread here and said I won't let my 11 year old son have a phone, he's too young. You wouldn't believe how many came back and told me "cut the cord" or "give him some independence" like I was somehow depriving my son by not letting him have a phone. Then you read shit like this - I stand firm in disallowing my son to have a phone until he's (either 16, 17 or 18) and can buy one for himself with the job he has. By then he will be ready for it. I know there's a lot of argument for letting a kid have a phone if they are of driving age, for road hazard, etc. I'm still iffy on that - I drove from 16 to the age of 26 without the use of a cell phone and somehow I survived, just like every person since the dawn of mass production of automobiles did. Meanwhile we will let him just be a kid without that black hole of a distraction.
A Prepaid phone for emergencies works perfectly for very little money.
Like a clamshell? Yeah I could get on board with that. No internet access = much more likely to happen. Thanks for the tip! I didn't know those were still around.
It's not always the parents. Some parents have said their child was indoctrinated at school and that the child now considers their parents bigoted and transphobic for not supporting "who they are," and that kids who come out as trans gain admiration, support, and popularity for being "so brave.
my 11 year old neice told me her friend is pansexual the other day. cringe.
Nice I mean niece.
I second that. I'm almost 50 and havent got a clue what any of the above is
Pity me, then, I'm 70. I was 15 before I even knew what a botter was. (Two male classmates getting it up in the showers, screaming "harder!")
I wish I could like this 10x.
Or..take her parents away. Or her teachers.
I'm not sure what network or streaming channel is featuring it, but I saw a promo for some documentary about a GIRL who "transitioned" to a boy, and filmed the whole thing, with weekly? posts and I think even showed injections with testosterone. Truly sick parents out there who are allowing this.
And take away her Bowie albums
That's cruel and unusual punishment
truth
I’m reminded of a conversation with an old friend a few weeks ago… (next door neighbor when we were kids) she was always a tomboy growing up, preferring to play soldier or cowboys and Indians with all of the neighborhood boys instead of tea parties and doll houses with the neighborhood girls. She did pick up more traditional feminine interests around middle school… She’s now 40 married with 2 kids… she said “thank god we grew up in the 80s cause today they’d be calling me trans and trying to inject me with hormones and who knows how much damage they would have done.”
Me as well with 2 older brothers. Never was into girlie things until I grew up.
