Who lets tall bushes grow up like that against a building?
The bushes block both the 1st and 2nd story windows, plus the roots can cause foundation cracking. They also don't complement the curb appearance of the building as much as they would if trimmed appropriately.
Maybe I'm missing the whole point here, but those bushes need to be trimmed back.
Also, someone should really re-think painting the brick paving GRAY... in front of a Grecian style / colonial building that is white with reddish/brown bricks. The gray paint has no place.
Only explanation I can think of is that they are trying to give those rooms maximum privacy with more subtle means than just blocking off the windows. Idk, it is weird.

Yeah, if they trimmed back the bushes the pillar would look a lot bigger.
