No matter what he was or has become, God almighty used Temar to rescue that little girl that day. The Lord worked through him. If he or someone could lead him to Jesus now, imagine what the rest of his life could be. Nothing but winning. Maybe he has found Jesus, maybe Temar could save a thousand children in his life. I hope he does. I hope he become a champion for the innocent!

Its possible he didn't do the armed robbery. He got a heavier sentencing because he didn't take a plea deal and maintained his innocence.
Maybe the kid stealer was a cabal asset. They waited till this heroic kid turned 18 to try him as an adult and framed him for "robbery", because he robbed them of their dinner.

Update. The news didn't report the suspect's name -- or I just haven't found any article that has yet.
They reported the shit of Temar Boggs, 18 years old, heroic kid with strong family support, commits armed robbery -- but they'll protect the identity of this mystery 72 year old guy who has completed this very same ice cream kidnap rape crime before against another child.
To be honest, the old creepy pervert asking a kid if she wants ice cream seems like a trope, a cover up of the reality that the people stealing kids don't fit the tropes.
Unfortunately, our environment has more of an effect on who we are than we'd like to admit. I'm talking even down to our makeup. While our GEN ETlCS remain largely intact, what gets turned on and off change in accordance to environmental factors.
Either way, if it's 3 yrs, he's still a kid at that point and we have no idea about the pressures from his peers which is the reality for many folks who live in the inner city. It also does not make the action of saving a kid any less heroic.

Any child can lose their way without a father in his/her life. Anyone can make a child, but can they parent a child. There is overwhelming peer pressure these days, that we didn’t see in the 50’s and 60’s. I hope this young man is a success in the future: keeps his job, his housing and reverts to the good intentioned person he was at age 15. God speed.
Society improves when people that do the right thing are praised.. they want to belong, feel special and be accepted !! The reason all to often they do the wrong thing is the for same reason.

The kid in the meme is not the dude in the mugshots. One is blue-black and the other is high yellow.
It is the same person. Images of the same person due to lighting etc. can "change" the skin tone. The physical features remain the same.
