At least you made the effort when it was not pushed in a lesson plan. I went go school mostly in the 80's and you could fail without being able to write in cursive. I was lucky because my mother had beautiful cursive had writing and she taught me well. No offense ment here but can you read an analog clock? Apparently that is a rare thing in the under 30 crowd too. I'm guessing you can because just the fact that you are here and awake puts you light years ahead of you're generation.
Maybe we went to school at similar times, but for us, we were told almost daily in elementary school that the adult world uses cursive and when we got to Jr. high school, we would need to do EVERYTHING in cursive, so it's SUPER IMPORTANT to do EVERYTHING in cursive.
Then, when we got to jr. high, the teachers there specifically told us that it's hard to read, and not to use it ever. High school... same thing.
I always wondered what was up with the elementary school teachers making such a big deal about it only for it to be entirely dropped the moment we left elementary school.
They are under the control of the communist NEA.
This ☝🏼
Same here when I was in elementary school. One of my teachers even taught us calligraphy. Thanks, Mrs. H.
The good ones are never forgotten.
I'm 24 and I learned the shit out of cursive and learned how to read an analogue clock, all shit that was in school still. I don't remember how to write much other than my name LOL but I can read this with some time
They made us learn it in first grade. 1966.
Same, but a bit earlier. I went to Catholic school and they taught us the Palmer method of cursive and it was an actual subject, The nuns were really tough about it, they said it was a mark of intelligence and education. They all had amazingly beautiful handwriting.
Born in ‘61 😎
Same but I was in first grade in the 90's.
Analog clock I can read. And I can write and read cursive. I was taught in elementary school that once I got to middle school if I didn’t know cursive I would fail. Then I got to middle school and cursive was extinct lol
