There was an entire thread about how the local and state securites are actually fraudulent, since they use the Federal reserve note. I dont remember the details, but essentially all these folks had been threatened to do this, even though constitutionally they cannot use notes issued by some private party (like fed reserve).

Dolloar collapses and people have no way to afford to use those computers crypto is worthless. Its what, 90% dependednt on people buying online and paying online with real money. No money, no buy, no buy, no crypto. There are a few niche cases, but no one is going to be using bitcoin to buy bread at a local shop.

Lmao, if the power goes off, your Crypto IS STILL THERE. It doesnt disappear. Also, if power goes out, so does your local bank. You cannot access your us dollars if the bank is without power, as all your money is 1s and zeros on servers, and banks cannot just hand out cash randomly. So it's a stupid argument.
And you arent paying for mountain dew with gold or silver, either... Not a single store accepts gold or silver, but thousands of them DO take crypto...
Everything depends on what you mean by SHTF. Different events are going to result in very different situations. Do you mean:
Total infrastructure collapse: Whether by EMP, solar flare, or some other national disaster. In this case, crypto will be worthless, but so will anything that isn't immediately useful. That includes gold and silver. The only things of value will be food, land, and the means to defend them. During this, which is essentially total anarchy, no one will be trading valuable goods for a chunk of rock that he can't immediately eat or shoot. Precious metals won't have any value until some civil order is restored.
Civil war: Since the infrastructure to support them will still exist, both precious metals and crypto are likely to retain their current value, though crypto will be much easier to trade for small goods. However, all involved factions will likely be printing their own currency, so you're probably much better off just using your faction's currency, and fighting like hell for that faction to win.
Weimar-style hyperinflation: Again, the infrastructure will still be around, only the fiat currency will be worthless. Gold, silver and crypto will still hold value, but as N0rds points out, stores are not set up to manage transactions with gold or silver, especially if you're dealing with values like 1/1000 oz. It's far easier to process 1/1000 of a bitcoin; and most stores are already set up to manage such payments.
To sum up: Gold and silver are better stores of value, but don't count on them having any liquidity. Crypto is much more liquid, and easier to process, but also less stable and more vulnerable to market fluctuation.

I’m a 100% with you on this, brother. All these cryptos are fundamentally worthless, and almost all functionally serve as pump-and-dump schemes.
They create absolutely no value, and depend entirely upon the “greater fool” principle for any “appreciation.”
Their future prospects are all go-to-zero as everyone tries to pull out more value from the system than was put in; they’re all pushed as a money-for-nothing scheme. And their value/use-case under a SHTF scenario is even more laughable.
I did have to chuckle how your first crypto-sceptic comment got downvoted to hell, but your follow up, where you noted that “cryptos” were, essentially, just another “cabal” scheme to get people to throw their money into a worthless (but oh so secure, because “blockchain”😆) rathole, was far more favorably received. I agree with both your arguments, generally, but I laugh how easily, on this board, explicitly pinning it on “the cabal” is the surest path to updoots.

People have been giving a shit about shiny metals for hundreds of years prior to the dollar or crypto (and still continue to today). If we are forced to go all the way back to either hunt or die for literally every person in society we're fucked anyway. I dont think the grid going down would put us in such a state. You're wrong on this one: the value of gold and silver is extrinsic. It's only value is as a medium of trade.
Food, land, ammunition, tools: These things have intrinsic value. You can use them even if no one is trading with you.
If I have a fish, I can trade it or I can eat it. It always has value.
If I have a chunk of silver or gold, it's worthless unless someone else is willing to trade something of value for it.
