People like your friend need prayer. We cannot reach them only our creator can. He made them just as he made us. He loves them just as he loves us. If we love our creator we should love those he created. Even and especially when they do not love themselves.
This type of behavior will not last and those that live this way are not long for this life. Pray for him while there is time. It is ultimately his choice what he does just as it ours. When the time comes if he has not turned from this path you will not regret your prayers for him.
Well, if he’s at a certain age this stuff is normal. Unfortunately I’m seeing this behavior in the thirty and over crowd with the last few generations. But a college kid or just getting out in the world, it’s called sewing your wild oats and most men need to do it if they want to successfully settle down. But the last few decades it seems this has expanded from a short healthy experience to a lifetime of pain and misery because that shit will never make you truly happy.
I learned that by the end of my Sabbatical. I had a lot of fun, but I wanted something more and fullfilling. That reaction no longer seems to be happening. God is about to purge.

I’ve also heard “I’ll just send them to Public school because it’s not bad here. The teachers are good. It’ll never get to us because we live in a small town.”
