I live in A blue state, they are requiring all kids wear masks.
They will not be offering virtual. Looking like we have to home school. If there were any houses to buy near the coast, we would be in Florida already.
Florida has plenty of red communities with opportunities available. And even blue cities with more opportunity have red suburbs with better school zones outside that area. Look I get it, it's not always easy so I'm not trying to criticize or anything. I chose my house very carefully based on school zone above all else, and when the time came for my oldest to start kindergarten, I still ended homeschooling anyway because I believed it was the best thing I could do for a long list of reasons. Today we are looking to moving way out to the country with a long commute because we see what's happening and we would rather be in a more secure area than a suburb. I think in the end I'd rather make certain sacrifices than others, and driving an hour or more for groceries and work is a sacrifice I'm willing to make, having my rights trampled by a blue city is a sacrifice I'm not willing to make.
We're going to need a nationwide enema to get rid of all the liberals. Im thinking we deport them to their own island somewhere. Or maybe just put a wall around New York city or LA and confine them inside.
The biggest meme in the homeschool community is that stereotypical belief outsiders have that homeschoolers are not socialized and that traditional school is a healthy form of socialization. If you truly homeschool and connect with your homeschool community in your area, you'll find that social opportunities for your kids isn't an issue, at all. I don't blame you for having this notion, people have been brainwashed to believe this for far too long.
”Never underestimate the power of a teacher to get through to a young child or even a teenager to make a point,” said a West Boca Raton teacher. “We’ll reward kids who wear masks. The power of a certificate, the power of a day without homework, the power of extra credit truly is power. Even if we can’t tell students that they have to wear a mask, there is nothing stopping us from rewarding those who do.”
Bribery and Discrimination at schools being fully advertised.
Parents need to get in school administrators faces about why teachers think they c an discriminate against kids that choose not to mask. EVERY SINGLE TIME IT HAPPENS.
In a just world. An admission like this. Would see the offending teachers punished.
In today’s world however. The em if school administrators wanted to. Which they don’t. But if they did the teachers a Unions would bury them in lawsuits.
Is that really a perk? This notion of giving extra credit for something completely non-academic strikes me as absurd. At the college level, and at least in most serious classes, there was absolutely no extra credit assigned for any reason. On the very rare occasions that it was available, the student would have really had to work for it (either by solving a very difficult problem or completing a separate project). I guess these days schools in the US are really more about rewarding obedience than intelligence and hard work. It is shameful.
My child would probably say something smartassed like, "You keep your candy! I'm not getting in the van!!"
Why aren't the names of the teachers included in the article?
Why is it that those who intentionally victimize kids always protected?
Underestimating the power of teachers to indoctrinate kids with communist and marxist ideals is how we got here.

This article is from Florida believe it or not. I moved to FL from IL partly because of covid and now this. This is my school district.
School funding comes from taxpayers. Your community needs to get together and form a discrimination lawsuit against them.
I'm here too. It's 90% libtard. The "community" is the enemy.
So then OP moved to the wrong part of florida. Why move to a huge blue community if you were intending to escape a blue community in the first place?
It's where the money is for one thing.

Homeschool is the best thing you could ever do for your kids anyway.
My only concern is socialization. I already wasn't ok with the questions about racism my 8 yr old son had been coming home with.

That's OK. I'll miss out on activities for now.
When all of you teachers are all dead from the depopulation vax... I will still be here, and then I will remove my mask. :>)
Problem is they plan to make the masked kids do less homework and plan to give extra credit.

I get your point, but now, most colleges now agree with the same sentiment!!! Where do go from here?
Less homework ... fits the scheme of making kids stupid and then "rewarding" them for it.
So... what I'm hearing is, if you wear a mask you're stupid. Cool.
