At a talk given by a brave NZ Doctor last night another member of the audience suggested Neem oil as an alternative to Ivermectin. Seems to be used as an insecticide. Anyone with further information please.

Well, it does work well as an insecticide, that I can attest to, but I think mostly it's a deterrent, not an insect killer. Diatomaceous Earth is a good and safe antiparasitic and insecticide that is edible.
Food grade only diatomaceous earth.
Thanks for reminder on Diatomaceous Earth. I use on my cat and it's easy to purchase. Didn't think of that :).
Cheers - I already take zinc and a glass of tonic water with quinine daily but should take more vit D.
Neem oil is used to combat scabies, same as Ivermectin.
My herb book says, "The seed oil treats leprosy and other skin diseases, shows carcinogen-reducing properties, and is anti-fungal and anti-viral. The bark, leaves, and roots are tonic and reduce fever. The leaves are antiseptic and expel worms. As a non-toxic pesticide the seed oil compounds destroy bacteria and over 200 insect species, including locusts and mites. The spermicidal seeds may result in a safe male contraceptive."
Personally, I wouldn't take it internally. You might be better off with a leaf tea if you can find it.
I would go for a very high quality pine needle oil, over Neem oil for internal use. There has been some suggestion that suramin from pine needs acts against the spike protein.

Just my thoughts on the matter.
Thanks for that information - much appreciated. Yes on pine needle tea and also chamomile which has Suramin also.

Cheers appreciate that.
I don't have any personal experience with neem oil, but isn't that one that will blister the hell out of your skin?
If it is, taking it internally doesn't seem like a good idea.
I have only heard of neem oil diluted with orange oil for a mosquito repellent for external use only. I wouldn’t try eating it.
I have heard of neem leaves made into a tea, that would be ok to drink.
Neem oil reeks!
In the UAE, Oman, and India they sell Dabur herbal toothpaste with neem. https://www.dabur.com/in/en-us/about/science-of-ayurveda/herbal-medicinal-plants/benefits-and-uses-of-neem
