I am sooo tired of this crap. It’s literally never going to stop. Every winter there will be a new variant which is a common cold and we will be under ridiculous restrictions.

I am going to the school board meeting if they open it to the public. Reaching out to like minded parents and getting them to join me.
BE PREPARED. Bring hard copies of the many, many studies that show the harm done by masks, particularly in children. Be prepared for their counter points - 'We are just following advice from the CDC (or Fauci) Bring hard copies of where the CDC has admitted to the number of covid deaths being inflated and where they now say the PCR tests are no good. Anything that helps undergird your case. And also, the exact date and interview where Fauci repeated said (over the years) that masks don't do anything. Point out the size of the covid particles and then point out that the cloth and blue masks don't filter out anything that small. Point out that Osha says masks are personal protective equipment and must be prescribed by a doctor and professionally fitted. Ask if they are abiding by that. GIVE THEM HELL. But also, give them FACTS. Good luck.
search for the board association state rules that control them. They usually spell out the specific circumstances they are allowed to close the meeting, mask mandates aren't one of them where I live. They also spell out how to remedy any board violations. Bring studies showing mask dangers.

Homeschool. It was a good idea before all of the corona fraud, almost a must at this point however.
My kid is an extrovert and needs interaction with peers. He also does not learn well from me. Private school is probably a better option for him.

Everyone says that. Truth is they learn better w o the distractions and illnesses of their peers. If I did it you can too. They have plenty of interactions that are scheduled n they interact on a white board n chat in home schooling. Nobody was more introverted than my son. Truly they need more interactions w adults. My son always felt more comfortable with adults. He had better language skills than his peers. Schools for learning. Social skills are best taught right and from the adults they are born to rather than some woke knob.
Yes, the peers are honestly one of the worst aspect of public schools. Their bad behavior, interests, poor language, the list goes on, are contagious.
I never speak up because my livelihood is in liberal land and I fear losing it but I just cannot in good conscience remain silent amy longer. If I lose my job so be it.
Not if you and the other parents of children at that school stand up and don't let them. Mandates are not laws.
They did it at my childs school. Legislation was passed banning mask mandates in school. A judge ruled that until the law takes affect on 9/28 the schools can keep the mandates. I got an email yesterday saying that they are putting the mask mandate back in place until 9/28. I am so pissed at the ridiculousness of it all.
I'm trying to find an attny to represent me, my daughter started her senior year at Xavier, ran by Phoenix diocese and I am so frustrated....I reached out to Kolodin (rep the Phoenix Union teacher) and heard nothing.
I have 0 faith that any of our 3 branches of government will protect our rights. Our government has gotten drunk with power over the last 1.5 years.
I would say that if this COVID pandemic is bad enough to wear masks in school, then its bad enough to pull your kids out of school, “for safety”.
These masks are not PPE, because they are not “rated for the intended purpose”, like all legitimate PPE is. Therefore the masks will not provide any protection in the dangerous environment of school.
Pull your kids out of school, have them study what they want to study, at their own pace.
You wouldn’t send your kids into a burning building just to learn some worthless trivia, so don’t send your kids into a COVID infested building just to learn that men can get pregnant

Children are impressionable and just want to fit in. Hell, we have enough trouble getting adults to flaunt mask mandates, let alone kids. This is all just child abuse.
Yes and the teachers harass them if they are non-compliant.

The time for action is nigh. There may be a parent action group in your area, if not I'd say consider starting one.
If you and other parents keep giving in, it will only keep going. Once they know they can get away with it, they'll never let up. Bet on that.

Then organize with the other parents - you can't be the only one feeling this way. School boards all over the country are getting overrun by angry parents and the parents are winning. You have to advocate for your children. Either that or pull your kid(s) and enroll in a private school that you confirm doesn't mask the kids. We pulled our son from public school last school year, and enrolled him in a wonderful Christian school where he has not been masked or put under any restrictions whatsoever. He's getting a WAY better education and at this point he will never go back to public school. It costs more but it's worth it.
