Total fuel consumption of U.S. airlines is approximately 19 billion gallons annually.
Total fuel consumption for mining Ore for construction of electric car batteries is approximately 21 billion gallons annually.
The 21 billion gallons of fuel burned can only produce enough Ore to build 250,000 electric car batteries.
The lifespan of an electric battery is 10 years and is not renewable. By 2050 these batteries will fill landfills with 50 million pounds of waste that does not break down.
I wonder if people would still believe in electric power cars, vehicles or equipment if they knew how massive the carbon emissions footprint really was?
That’s one big detail ALL these electric car manufacturers and numerous other ‘Preachers’ of the good of electric vehicles never talk about the ‘Embodied Energy’ of that vehicle, its parts or its manufacture.....!
And it’s not just the ‘Embodied Energy’ that is ignored there’s also the slave like work forces involved in making these items and those also ‘mining for the raw materials’ needed In Africa most notably where children as young as 5 years old help to mine as well..!
It’s a shameful truth of the Climate Change proponents that they choose to or are coerced into ignoring the true cost of The Climate Change narrative...!!
I think the blame really belongs to the U.N. China is just the face of the enemy they want you to see.
Its true though. Climate change, global warming, sustainability, diversity are all concepts the UN has been pushing for decades while the shift all of the worlds wealth from non profit to non profit that they control. Gotta fund their Eugenics programs somehow
Saw this on another post. Here's my comment from that post since I'm too lazy to type all of this again:
I don't really hate EVs, but I loathe the push to force them onto all of us. Like someone else pointed out, Toyota, the biggest auto maker in the world, has already calculated there's literally not enough electrical output to support a large scale EV takeover.
I DO believe, there is a place for EVs in the future, most in performance and utility applications. For example, Rimac is making amazing EV hyper cars that outperform Bugatti, Koenigsegg, etc. That level of technology and application makes perfect sense, since it's not meant to be a daily driver, but a really fun toy for all intents and purposes.
Another example would be like the new Ford F150 lightning. It's basically a giant mobile generator you can move around a job site, so it make perfect sense from a utility stand point. Most job sites have a central hub they operate from where they could charge such vehicles before sending them out where a power source is needed.
That being said, it's all nice tech anyway. All of this crap about it being "renewable" and "carbon neutral" is going up in smoke, and it'll be put on the backburner in the next decade thanks to VW and Porsche. Most people don't know this, but VW, and Porsche specifically, have been investing billions of dollars over the past decade to create a viable bio fuel alternative. And as of last year, they have a viable alternative that's 95% energy efficient compared to traditional gas/diesel and only costs 5-10% more to make.
I'm not the biggest science nerd, but from my understanding, it's made by condensing carbon dioxide, either from the atmosphere or directly from emissions from power plants, into a liquid form that can then be refined into a crude oil substitute.
So as a said, this EV still is probably going to be relegated to a niche industry in the next 10 years, and we'll see an explosion in the biofuel industry. Probably going to see an increase in infrastructure as well. I'm imagining massive commercial faming towers the size of skyscrapers that have multiple levels of "fields" that only grow trash organic products solely to burn for fuel production.
You want a portable generator why not put a generator in the back of a gas powered F150 that can also tow the rest of your stuff and not worry about battery usage?
I agree though, EVs can have a place but this push for all EV is ridiculous and I personally hate them and will never own one.
Electric cars are dumb.
Energy density of Petrol/gasoline = 12.4kWh per kilo (about a litre)
Energy density of li-ion batteries = 0.24kWh per kilo
So you need 51x the weight for the same energy stored and batteries do not get lighter as you use them, you have haul that weight around.
By volume, batteries take up about 13x more space than equivalent petrol.
Filling a tank takes 2minutes. Filling a battery on a domestic charger takes hours. The fastest chargers have power supplies like factories - 350kw chargers. You need a neighborhood scale substation for that.
Plus you still need to put energy into it from some other fuel source that was used to generate the electricity - like gas, coal or nuke. Electricity is not technically a fuel, nor is Hydrogen, because you need energy to create it, usually more energy than you can subsequently use for "work".
Road transport energy use is about equal to all current electrical energy used. So to switch to electric vehicles would demand a very significant upgrade of the electric grid (which is not happening) or a large fall in the numbers using transport (cough) or a reduction in population (cough cough).
Carbon dioxide is often mooted as another reason to switch to EVs, but carbon dioxide is not a problem - we could do with more of it - and even if it were, the embodied carbon in an EV battery is equal to a normal car that does 10,000 miles a year for EIGHT years. How long do the batteries last....about 8 years. Major fail.
Performance is also rubbish, as is range, complexity, and they don't have very good heaters for cold weather (you will use a lot of power to generate heat)
Normal cars also have the advantage that satellites cannot turn you off or ban you from going to certain places (that is coming soon ladies, if they get their way).
Electric cars also cannot charge or run in freezing temperatures. Meaning that if you live in a place that experiences winter you won't be able to go anywhere if the temp gets below freezing. They have you grounded with no transportation. Sounds like the governments perfect opportunity to then swoop in and either kill everyone or send them all to the Covid concentration camps with no way of escape.
Of course this is assuming they force everyone to have electric cars or use public transportation. "It's 2030, you'll own nothing and be happy."
One of the ways the government likes to control you is with gas taxes, these big government fucks WILL start jacking up gas taxes more than they already have.
they will invent shortages to spike the price (more to tax).
they will start charging you by the mile with odometer inspections.
unless you plan to start making your own gasoline, you might want to start planning ahead, cut off one of their avenues of attack.
on the property here i have 2 solar golf carts, i made them after watching this video: Regenerative Golf Cart - https://youtu.be/FOd3xfRT8VU
between these and EV "bikes" i've got all short range transportation handled.
next on the list is an actual EV... was thinking an old square body conversion.
there are dozens of people with full EV build tutorials already on youtube, everything from simple single passenger all the way up to trucks, vans, even a military hummer... hopefully i can figure that out too.
point is if you have a large enough solar array and battery bank you can charge your EV's for free and be good to go.
The best way we are going to stick it to them is to cut them off at the pass, never give them a chance to dick you over with extortion if you can help it, and in this case you get your own personal energy independence.
fuck arguing over what does more harm to the environment... we all know the push for green is just a way for them to introduce a new industry to monopolize and extort.
Who owns 99% world's rare earth mines (Neodymium) required for electric vehicles? Chyna.. Who is technologically unable to cope with Europe, Japan and the US regd. combustion engines? Chyna..
My main issues is that they want to phase out fossil fuels which at this point in time is impossible because we need them just to be able to create stuff like electric cars etc. Also solar panels and wind turbines destroy bird populations and are creating more insect infestations coupled with white nose syndrome in bats. Hydro electric is killing fish too so no such thing as green energy.
Even with coal power, EVs are much more efficient, especially after the first 5000 miles, where any mining emissions are offset. However, unlike ICE vehicles, EVs can improve on emissions with nuclear or solar or other sources. Just because GM can't seem to find a government bailout from their design failures, doesn't mean EVs aren't the best path forward. But they don't need any incentives, the tech is better, goverment just needs to get out of the way. Stop forcing companies to make EVs. If they don't make them, they'll eventually die out and market share will go to those that actually want to make them.
Here’s are some interesting facts:

They're also not zero emission. https://www.instituteforenergyresearch.org/international-issues/electric-vehicles-in-germany-emit-more-carbon-dioxide-than-diesel-vehicles/
