Some people think I’m being mean but I’m not as I have a special needs son that had it bc of his disability. Many people are not aware: Since it is “government run” it has specific “well child checkups” with a checklist for drs to complete to get paid ie vaccines, blood work, etc.
I apologize if I was snotty with my comment. Our children always come first in our lives, and we should use whatever programs are available to us for that purpose. My issue is I know people on "assistance" and they admit they know how to work the "system". That then makes me angry. My feeling is that help is for families and people who are needing help and services, but not for others who just take advantage of it.
One time a friend took his daughter to the pediatrician for something and he found out they gave her the flu shot.
I long ago lost my "trust" in the medical field. I know some good people in it, but far too many people do little to no research and/or are paid shills for pharma.
Simple rules:
Never go unless it's a last resort.
Never take any meds without first seeing the side affects/what's in them/etc. I probably only take about a 1/5 of the stuff they tell me to and maybe two to three times a year take one OTC med for headache.
If the visit is less than 5 minutes, ending in a prescription, they probably have zero clue as to what's actually wrong with you.
Today my kids dr called (was the assistant) and asked if I wanted to get my 2 yr the flu shot. I told her no thanks and she sounded surprised when she said okay no problem. We are on Medicaid. It's not just the flu shot but Staywell has been pushing with phone calls and texts about me getting the Covid shot.
Why are people getting their 4 year olds a flu shot?!
It’s free on Medicaid....
All flu shots are free.
Nothing is "free", we're paying for it through the slush fund that is IRS/treasury.
Thank you
...now THAT'S a problem!
