Skipping flu shot... Best way to handle flu for Adult, 12 year old, and 3 year old?

Unlike Covid, Flu is pretty dangerous to kids. Flu killed my older daughter's 11 year old friend. I'm personally not worried about the flu, but definitely want my kids safe.

Wife and I used to get the flu every year (and used to get the flu shot every year)

We stopped getting flu shots in 2002, and haven't had the flu since.

Funny... After a year of ads pushing the jab, the State of Delaware is once again pushing the flu vax. That will be a big nope from me! Have to make sure my kids and grandkids skip these as well so they don't "accidentally" get the coof shot.

Vitamin C. Have you thought contacting Frontline Doctors? Or even Dr. Sherri Tenpenny? They have employed many nurses, doctors etc. on their hotlines to handle the massive amount of enquiries they are receiving. Dr. Zelenko is another. For adults the dosage is high, so getting clarity for children’s doseage is imperative.

Vitamin D is UBER important, take at least 5,000 units daily starting now, ending never.

We never get flu vax, only got flu once, used therma flu from doc to get over it.

I believe most of the coof is flu, so the vitamin d,c, zinc, quercetin protocol would work against flu too

Edit to add: I am not a doc, verify all medicines and supplements you plan to take with your doctor

This. Cannot. Be. Emphasized. Enough. If you could only take one thing to prevent the flu or any upper respiratory tract illness, vitamin D would be it. 5,000 international units, which is 125 mcg(micrograms) a day is a safe and effective adult dosage. If you could only add one other thing, it would be vitamin K2, to insure calcium is deposited where it belongs. Every other supplement is fine and dandy, but if you are vitamin D deficient, i.e. blood level below 25 ng per ml, it would all be for naught. And as HopefulSkeptic says: Talk to your doctor. Get your blood vitamin D level checked and try to get it around 50 ng per ml.

It's the same prophylaxis protocol as COVID. Just look up zelenko prophylaxis, I'm on mobile and this should be enough for you to find it. Quercetin zinc and B/C vitamins are all you really need.

Statistically the flu shot is more dangerous than actual flu. Lies and big pharma agendas have warped our brains into believing there is a pill and shot for everything.

Never had a flu shot in my life - 46 years old. Got the flu once in my life @ 31. Pretty sure it was H1N1, that's what was going around at the time. Couch surfed for about 10 days. Had fatigue, slight headache and brief random light headedness.

Took nothing, seriously. I backed off the smokes for a few days, but I still puffed weed as per regular. Just drank water.

I should note, being a Gen X'er ; I grew up eating dirt, scraping myself up while playing but never bothering to go home and get a band aid. Never taken vitamins or preventative anything my entire life. I have MAYBE a total of 7 or 8 days a year I don't feel 100% normal / fine.

So you missed the swine flu shots of 1976. I was suckered into that one, but never again.

I've never had the flu. I didn't eat dirt, but I did drink from the water hose. I still don't use bandaids most of the time.

I used to have to get the flu shot every year as part of my employment conditions. The shot itself always made me ill for a few days (got worse every year and my mentioning of this to my doctor was blown off), and then whether it would actually keep me from getting the flu was always a crapshoot.

When I do get sick, I always handle it with Robitussin, lots of fluids, and lots of sleep.

It's kind of funny that they make such a big stink about how many people die from the flu every year while pushing the shots, but if you come down with it, you get told "Come to work, you aren't THAT sick."

We’ve been giving our kids prophalactically a multivitamin, extra D, extra C, extra Magnesium, elderberry, and zinc. All are available in chewable or gummies. Elderberry is also available in liquid.

You can get silver lozenges for sore throat.

One suggestion I have is to get some zofran and keep it on hand. When my kids spike a fever, they start throwing up. Zofran helps break that cycle and then you’re able to get medicine and fluid to stay in them.

Another suggestion is to get a nebulizer and some food grade 3% hydrogen peroxide and saline. Mix equal parts saline and FGHP. Use that in the nebulizer up to every hour. Kills all the germs.

Vitamin C (between 500 - 1500 for the 12 yr. old, for the 3 year old, 250 - 750), E, D...make sure they are drinking plenty of fluids (water, primarily, but juices will help too) . There is a reason as well chicken soup is considered "grandma's cold and flu remedy" : The vitamins and minerals (especially if you cook bones in the broth as long as can) help the healing process, as does the protein in the chicken. (also, Tweety51A and DragonBallz may actually have better knowledge than I do -my children don't get sick very often)

All of you should be taking lots of vit D3, preferably with K2 because that helps absorbtion.

No-one who has a high enough reading - over 40 - gets sick, according to Clif High who has made a study of it for years.

The medical system realized that D was a lifesaver long ago and so they talk it down and say to be careful not to get it too high.

I have a blood test every 3 months and I'm aiming at 60. So I've raised my intake to 1500 units a day, 500 units x 3.

The little guys should have less, you'll have to look into that. But that's why people get sick in the winter - not enough sunshine- not enough vit D. D3 is the natural kind, D2 is synthetic.
