With no disrespect to the enormous chore you performed... I would completely miss that, too. When I come home, I have five kids requiring some combination of dinner, diaper changes, or restitution because someone took toys or whatever. Then it's feeding the animals and putting them up for the night and performing my own maintenance tasks such as dishes, clothes, or bills. If it isn't something really obvious or important, it just won't register.
