Full-blown commie here came from Post Soviet block in 2006 crying about the fact that higher education and healthcare is not "free" in USA like it is in most Europe and Soviet times and complaining about gun-toting rednecks. Then in 2008 my USA born son got severe adverse reaction to regularly scheduled vaccination for babies. The awakening process was VERY slow but steady. Thankfully I could afford to leave work and be at home educating myself on everything from healthcare to history, politics, and all imaginable conspiracies. One rabbit hole into another to the point I'm now - proud owner of tin foil hat homeschooling my own kids and believing that healthcare and compulsory education as it is designed is actually designed for evil purposes! :)
I lived in Soviet Sweden too and was perfectly brainwashed! :) Maybe it had smth to do with the fact that I was part of the majority most of my life. I think the moment we realize things are not the way we think they are is when we are among the majority for whom it works. The moment one becomes single out for whatever reason - eyes start opening and one switches from collectivism to being individualist realizing one shoe size does not fit all. Unfortunately I believe this is still the main reason for awakening. There is just MORE of us that do not belong to the masses any longer.
voted for obammer first time in 2008. Was disappointed that he was not LEFT enough so did not vote for him in 2012 anymore. I was too focused only on vaccination issue and healthcare in general that I did not see the bigger picture yet. But between 2012 and 2016 switched completely to libertarian view and in 2016 actually voted for Johnson. Only in 2020 voted for Trump. So, yes, under obammer but during his second shift completely switched.
Voted for Barry Hussein Soetoro in 2008, even shook his hand in 2007. Sickening in retrospect. Couldn't see what he was, shameful.
By 2012 I was looking to Ron Paul, and by 2016 primary season I jumped on the MAGA train, /r/T_D early on was some of the most enlightening, based, fun times ever to be on spezzit, and they killed the domreddit for it.
I worked with the nicest guy that was a self-professed Bernie Bro. I felt that his big heart was in the right place but that he was so misguided about socialism in our great country.
I truly hope he is already here or on his way very soon!
I was right there with you. Totally brainwashed. Thought The Daily Show with Jon Stewart was hilarious. So embarrassing. Glad Killary woke me up in time to vote for GEOTUS!! Also went from atheist to solid Christian. God bless Trump and Q Team. 🙏🇺🇸🐸❤️
But maybe some of you can talk to my next door Bernie bro who is still on the Commie train. He's actually a nice guy I just can't stand his politics nor do I ever engage him in them at all.
I'm guilty, even worse, My first time voting, I registered green party, and I voted for Ralph Nader. I was straight out of highschool. I worked at an all natural food store in Florida, and it was before whole foods got big. So it was a very hippy attitude mom and pop type store and I worked in the vitamin and supplements section. Good times, I had absolutely no real knowledge of politics, I only went with what sounded like a good idea. Blissfully ignorant of the swamp.
My Boomer mother was a hardcore republican, she was with me when I got my driver's license in the line at DMV they were registering me for all of that stuff, I even said yes to organ donor, I didn't know what party I was clueless, lol, my mom said you're a Republican, I'll disown you if you register Democrat. I think the green party was rebellion, I removed organ donor status later too, I was so innocent 😆
Lifelong Dem/Ind here (altho I did vote for Gerald Ford). When Bernie came on the scene it was electrifiying - not the details of his platform, but just the fact that he was talking to regular people about the things that affected them. He obviously had a heart and cared about the people. I was never a socialist, and didn't agree with many of his points, but he was motivated by trying to help the little guy who was getting totally ground down by the out of control greed of the elites in gov't and business.
In those days I read every single political article and op-ed piece in the NYT and all the comments to all of them (often hundreds), and commented a lot myself. It was very clear that, of the NYT readers, 90% were for Bernie and hated Hillary. Over the course of the primaries, we all could see that the NYT (and the rest of the MSM) were trying to hose Bernie by not covering his highly energetic rallies, and pushing Hillary with daily fluff pieces. The comments became increasingly angry and eventually a lot of us canceled our NYT subscriptions.
When Hillary became the candidate, I was through with the Dem party. Totally ignored what their base wanted and tried to shove this criminal monster down our throats. No way I would ever vote Dem again.
Trump was doing one thing the same as Bernie - talking to regular people about the things that concerned them, without talking down to them. He cared about the people and you could feel that. Only his plans for fixing things made more sense and were not socialist give-aways.
He picked up me and a lot of other Bernie Bros. It has been shown that it was actually disaffected Bernie Bros who were responsible for his win - their votes in the key Rust Belt states were larger than Trump's margin of victory.
So I became a full Trump supporter and have never looked back. The thing is, I have changed, in becoming more conservative as I get older, but mostly it's the Dems who went so far into the ditch with their far-left insanity. And the Dems stopped giving a shit about regular people starting with Bill Clinton's presidency. They are now just the party of the 1%, and their idiotic base still doesn't see how badly they're being used.
Great to know there are others on GAW who came to things this way.! I always enjoy your posts, Rooftop.
Before Trump, I was disappointed with all the candidates. In fact, I sent a letter to Trump at his company urging him to run for President in 2013. I wanted an outside businessman to be President that could bring some sane thinking to DC. I didn’t get a reply but didn’t expect one. I guess I was on the Trump train before he even announced.
Started getting sick and tired of the dems always catering to the "free free free" crowd that never wants to "work work work". Long before 2016 campaigns ramped up, I looked into who had declared they were running, did some research into all of them and their backgrounds and thought Marco would make a strong candidate. I'll admit at the time, I didn't take Trump seriously. I voted for Marco in the primary and then when debates bewteen Trump and Voldemort rolled around, I warmed up to Trump and he's been my dude ever since!
Also forgot to mention, I grew up in a democrat UAW household. The left is so crazy that even my 70 year old parents abandoned the party for Trump in 2016 and swear they will never vote democrat again in their lifetime.
Yep. I use to be a berniebro back during pizzagate time. Then when Hillary won the primaries, I switched over to Trump. Didn't have anything against him, but no way in hell would I vote for that bitch. I had friends in the military that would tell me horror stories about how the Clintons treated the military.
Forgot to add, need to thoroughly thank all of you guys on great awakening for really waking me up and convincing me to avoid the clot shot. I had considered getting the shot until I saw one guy in here post about his experience with pandermix. And then the other post about all the things wrong with J&J and Pfizer. That woke me up about the dangers of experimental vaccines.
Used to like Bernie cuz I thought he would lead to changing of the financial fuckery of Wall Street and all the Occupy movement started out addressing before it devolved into woke identitarian bullshit. Crazy how once the left and right came together to point their finger upwards at the source of the 2008 collapse and they got totally distracted pointing at each other by devolving into camps “the gay liberal tranny agenda vs the literal nazis white supremacy America is raycis” bullshit. I’ve had really good friends who were aware of the corruption from both sides that got sucked in by the culture war and their respective teams and it really is disappointing to watch people you thought were smart fall for the divide and conquer tactic. To boil it down to a more concise and somewhat humorous take: I came for disclosure of aliens/technology/true history of the universe/spirit and got red pilled on how the left became the authoritarian vanguard for the elite NWO pedo folks running this corrupt system.
No way! Good for you guys!
After Bush I wanted to like Obama, man was I disappointed.
Sneaky hussein
Barry is a lifetime C_A guy, just like Mr NWO himself, GHWB
They all play for the same team... with one exception: our man DONALD J. TRUMP

I donated 250 bucks to Bernie's 2016 campaign. Even at the time I saw Trump as the genius he is, I could see exactly what he was appealing to.
Seth Rich/podesta emails were my first steps.
No refunds!
9/11 was what woke me the fuck up! Bldg 7 being the biggest red pill ever
This is so heartening!
I worked with the nicest guy that was a self-professed Bernie Bro. I felt that his big heart was in the right place but that he was so misguided about socialism in our great country.

The Daily Show was hilarious. He's left and he pushed leftist ideas, but the comedy was solid.
Can't tell where he is now. Seems like he walked away and then supported 9/11 first responders.
He didn't walk away. The Party went way left and he stayed put.
No I wasn't a Bernie follower.
But maybe some of you can talk to my next door Bernie bro who is still on the Commie train. He's actually a nice guy I just can't stand his politics nor do I ever engage him in them at all.
Nope. But Bernie alerted me to the brazen voter fraud, that I had mostly been asleep to. At least in CA, it was clear the party shamelessly stole it.
I wasn't a huge fan, but I wanted him to be chosen over Hillary. Ah well.
I'm guilty, even worse, My first time voting, I registered green party, and I voted for Ralph Nader. I was straight out of highschool. Grew up conservative. Never wavered!

I went from Obama to Rubio to Trump in that order and haven't looked back since. Sheep no more n' shit 😎👍

88 huh? Not doing much to fight the white Supreme Pizza narrative with that number choice.
Woah now, critical thinking is dangerous, I read it on The New York Times.
