Move to Florida. There is room for everyone. Seriously, leave wherever you are right now and relocate permanently to Florida.

It’s paradise down here, but sooooo expensive in the Miami-Dade/Broward/Palm Beach area. Totally worth it. We have the best governor ever ❤️ 🇺🇸
hi mom it's me your soon-to-be-adopted son i love u mom
That creeped me out way more than I thought it would 😆🤣😂👊🏼
I think the profession of love at the end with the lack of punctuation that does it.
Don’t call me mom!
It’s Miami...call me Mami please 🤦🏻♀️
sorry mom are you on the way yet mom???
😩😫
Omg, you did it again!!! 😩
😜
Please papi.
Hahahahahaha!
That's cuz you's on the Yankee side. West is best and the water is warm.
Is this true ,, I'm in San Diego water freezing even in summer ,, so the west side of Florida has the warmest water ?? What towns are in west ? Thank you,, I could Google but hate hitting being on goggle ,, I'm thinking of Tennessee as well have wonderful pedes on here there
west side is gulf side, the gulf is hot, east side is ocean side
I will research
So gulf as in Bay ,, no waves correct ?
No, the Gulf of Mexico, plenty of waves.
I don't surf much anymore , board dropped 63 feet trying to catch the big waves and hit wrong ,, shattered everything .. back etc ,, I still get out on long board but I'm a chick dudes here are serious snd you better be ripping or stay on the sand ha ,, so I'd rather have smaller body waves and warm water .
Right now the water in the Gulf on the Pinellas County coast is 66F (which is a little cooler than average because we've had chilly weather). That's pretty cold for us, but we have a few 80+ degree days ahead, so it will go up to like 70. In late August it can be 90F. It's not really refreshing, just wet. You can normally comfortably get in the water from late March through mid October. Canadians can stretch it out to Thanksgiving on a nice day.
Ha ha Canadians love that ,, love the water temps , our coast is always cold , we get a couple weeks in august when the temp is 75 and we all go nuts ,, we are usually at 68 / 72 in the summer. Winter forget ,, I have a 29!yr old daughter with autism ( vaxx before I was awake , I jumped up real quick 27 yrs ago watching her reaction in real time ,, those murderous pricks ) anyway she lives thereafter will go out in winter but freezes ,, I want yo get her in warm water ,, was planning Hawaii few years ago but screw that
Try using Duck, Duck Go for web browsing instead of Google. You get more honest information and less liberal narrative garbage.
yes the water is usually 76 degrees year round
For sure...retirement is only a few more years
DO NOT MOVE HERE. SERIOUSLY. DONT. TOO MANY PEOPLE .. MY TOWN HAD 16K TOTAL POPULATION 4 YEARS AGO. ITS TRIPLED. STOP. STAY OUT OF CENTRAL AND NORTH FLORIDA.
Sorry its the best state to currently live in. Been planning on moving there for years. This covid bullshit has finally made me to decide to actually want to.
As long as it's like minded people moving there, we will become an unmoveable army if we stick together.
I would in a heartbeat if there was a way. I live in Canada and every person in my household has lost their jobs for not getting the clot shot. We have no money coming in and will lose everything and have no food if things aren't changed. We have about two months of savings. No Jobs here without the shot.
Can anyone start an online business? Your post has me worried for ya'll.
Working online is an option, it's like the wild west right now, get those toes in while you can!!
Stay strong fellow Canadian. I too am suffering financially up here.
You are all heroes! Good luck!
I live in Florida, and, despite the OP, there is not really "room for everyone." Panhandle is different from the peninsula. I don't know how they're going to do it, but in the not-too-distant future, they're going to have to limit the population down there. There isn't the fresh water to support all the people, the agriculture, and wild areas too. Garbage/waste is another massive issue. Already in the South Beach area they're experiencing land subsidence from over-pumping the aquifer, and the bedrock is settling and crushing the aquifer's potential to recharge. Coastal areas are flooding...not from "sea level rise"...but subsidence.
Florida is a reallllllly good place to die in in any real SHTF scenario for all the reasons you just listed.
What's the best rural area for homesteading and homeschooling that's far away from any cities?
Out in the middle as we say. Up toward Silver Springs it's Horse Country with lots of farms. There's lots of great rural areas in the Panhandle. There are some places in Central FL where you can get land for $5k per acre. You'd be surprised how rural it can be in Florida.
You could live in Arcadia. evil laugh
Lol, we had a joke at the bloodbank I worked at in SRQ, when we'd go out in the bloodmobile, people would ask where we were going, and in a southern drawl we'd reply " arc- a -dia, where they say double wide, with pride". Cool little town though, great antique shops.
Yes, northwest Florida. For example, Lake City.
Yes do that. Leave Texas alone thanks.
Texas in in trouble right now. I'd feel safer in florida.
Lol someone disliked my comment. Hahahaha, you know the dems have their eyes on texas, you know the Gov is a joke, and you know the cali-commies have been moving there in mass while the southern border has been breached for far too long.
I moved here in early 2019, coincident with my home state, Maine, getting one of the WORST Governors ever.
Governor Mills fancy’s herself California East. She’s done her level best to destroy the state. I can say with absolute confidence I have no regrets. Mainers, stuck with that hog cannot say the same.
Tampa Bay area; horrendous traffic, minimum inventory for housing and very expensive when you can find it. Nice 3 BR with a pool in nice community figure $450,000 - $500,000. But there are a lot of low paying jobs. Families living together to make it.
Spot on. If you can move outside Tampa, that would be great. I think we’ve reached max capacity. Not to say don’t come to Florida. Please do. Just see if you can squeeze in somewhere else.
I make money online and can pretty much go anywhere as long as there is an internet connection. The husband has a job he would have to quit though, which puts us on one income with kids. I think it can be done if we shop smart but he thinks it's risky.
It’s hard to make massive changes. It’s risky, it’s scary, but it might be worth it. Everywhere down here (Tampa) you see help wanted signs. If you look on Indeed or Craig’s list or where-ever, help is needed. I have a friend who is in mgt for a manufacturer in St Pete. They pay 15 an hour to assemble widgets and they can’t get anyone to do it. So maybe taking an interim job for a while might be enough to make it work. You stick with it and better jobs roll around later. Idk but there are a lot of positives. No state income tax is one. Anyway, all the best to you.
hell, there are fucking taco bells with signs saying starting pay $20/hr
they are beyond desperate for workers (st augustine area)
My sister just told me they are looking for people to fill jobs in Jacksonville!! :)
No. Not just no but Hell No! I don't do well in literally anything over 75 degrees. Being sick from the heat for 80+% of the year? No. Northern MN for me and zero plans to leave no matter what comes. The commies can bulldoze this place after they kill me.
Growing your own food year round can't be beat! You'll adjust to the heat, and hey, no harsh winters!
Was stationed in CA for 6 years, did not adjust. I have no desire to grow food year round, 2 or 3 months of puttering in the garden is more than enough to annoy me already by harvest time. Hunt and fish for my protein which beats growing food any day of the week. I also happen to LIKE winter. I HATE summer, I find it incredibly annoying overall. The only issue I have had with winter is the last 20 years have almost all been warm ones, we never seem to get good cold stretches of -40 to -60 anymore. Genetically speaking, my body is set to run well in cold weather. Maybe I am a bit weird that way but I would be perfectly happy to see half of MN move out and give the rest of us more elbow room.
Ok stay in yankee country lol. We can't all fit in florida anyway.
(Beautiful photo btw)
I know right ,, where is this do u Know , whst part of Florida ??
Naples
I heard Naples was beautiful , I need to research and make a decision ,, only a matter of a short time that San Diego will be SF and LA so far we have held them back but there are more against us here so the damn is breaking.
I've only been to Naples a few times, and I wasn't thrilled with traffic or the size of it, but I'm from the Venice/ Englewood area on the west coast, and they were smaller towns when I was growing up. I live in Sarasota now, and it's just the right size, albeit expensive in comparison. Beautiful beach too, Siesta Key, sand is the texture of sugar, they say it's from a high quartz content, and there's a legend about that being the reason Sarasota always gets spared from hurricanes. Local lore lol, it's also home to Ringling college of art.
Thank you so much for all that info ,, sounds wonderful ,, I just got a little RV in case I have to get out of San Diego quickly ,, I have a 29 yr old daughter with autism ,, vaxx before I was awake ,, anyway public health is circling ,, im what u call child endangerment because I won't let them near her with vax and haven't for 27 years since the incident ,, anyway I want to be ready to go ,, they are texting and calling , if they come to my door I'm out ,, as I said the Rv is ready ,, I'll have my older kids take csre of the house rent / sell gotta figure out ,, met pedes from Tennessee on here ,, love them and thinking there as well
Btw how much is expensive ?? 500 for a small 2 bedroom place or R U talking million
Siesta keys water temp was 67 today, damn our summer temp on average is 68 , our temp today was 63 which is good , 59 is usually the best temp in December. It's to cold got me ,, 68 to 72 is our summer temps, a couple weeks a year will get a few degrees higher but that's a short two weeks, people come here and freak because our ocean is generally freezing
Just found a decent size 1 bed condo with beach access ,, damn it's 575 that's awesome ,, that would b way over a mill here ,, damn I need to roll into town for a couple weeks this is crazy ,, thanks for the tip
Lol, I just woke up and checked in, I was going to answer but it looks like you've found something, at 575 I'm super impressed too! Rent in Sarasota for a one bedroom usually runs at just under or over 1,000 per month, 575 sounds more on par with Venice and Englewood, I'm actually curious where you found the listing. As for the RV we actually have several parks where you can park and live for a monthly fee, with all the amenities, the most popular is called Sun' n fun, on Fruitville road. Let me know if you want any more info! :)
575 was to buy 575.000.00 but it was wslk to the sand that would be well over a million here . Yes thank you so much about the RV info , I may take a trip out there soon , I actually got it to have ready in case things turn real bad real quick ,, not that they aren't already but I'm a single mom with special needs daughter and I need to protect her and myself , if this doesn't turn around soon I'll need to get to safer land , Cali is nuts
Check out St Augustine
Pulling it up now thank you so much
Montana is fine too: no vax mandates allowed, no sales tax, very low unemployment, pro-gun, beautiful scenery....a little colder though, lol. Liberals need not apply.
I've been down there 5 times in the last 18 months.
It's cheaper living and for what I would get in Florida compared to what I pay in NJ I'd be living like a millionaire.
It won't stay that way, with all the Naw Yawkers moving down here snapping up real estate for absurd prices.
Yeah I know. I have to get there asap
Lots of great retirement communities too(55 and over).
I'm on my way at the end of the month.
What would be great would be to create a small organized community to move down together, on a huge piece of land we all invest in, and build our up our little community. Each family could have some valuable trade/skill to offer: construction, growing/preserving food, raising animals, teaching/homeschooling, etc. We help each other establish our homes and live as neighbors.
Moved from purple Nevada to Florida. No masks, no vax mandates. The only people with rags on are retail workers and the few masked newcomers.
Ha! I was telling my Florida-living BIL that I wanted to retire there, just not sure where. (He said rent for a year to see if you like the area.) He said Florida is getting overcrowded! lol. He said it seems everyone is moving there.
I'd trust FL staying red before TX. I have to imagine FL is loving what's happening to it right now, and an influx of conservatives will be en route. Meanwhile Texas is taking on Cali liberals and illegals en masse. Dead on accurate about Orlando, though; skip it.
COME ON!!!!!! Power in numbers and you can help ensure that it gets better!!!!!
Only cowards flee.
I will stand my ground here in California. These evil enemies that tear down my fellow statesmen will cower in the end! THEY CAN GTFO OF CALIFORNIA… if they care to survive this “war”. GITMO is beautiful this time of year so they’ll be right at home… freakin monsters! We The Sovereign People of California WILL reclaim our state, our wealth, our homes, and our lands. These DS dummies are gonna learn today!
California is literally the only place better than Florida (that's if you don't factor the residents and policies).
Really should be moving to democrat cities en masse to take control there
You may want to hash this out with u/sosickofit
I'm staying put fren and gonna try to turn this commie hole back around in Michigan. I'll do it or die trying.
God bless you sir.
I feel so blessed, I im a 33 year old who randomly ended up moving to Florida a few years ago on a total fluke after being born and raised in Massachusetts, then all this happens and suddenly I realize I'm so fucking lucky its freaky.
My husband and I are scoping it out. We gotta leave soon - the pressure is getting hot here is Massachusetts and I’ve been itching to move for years anyway. We’re looking at Punta Gorda, Cape Coral and maybe Naples. Housing prices are off the charts though.
We’re also considering TN, AR, TX, AZ as top choices. Montana is good but too cold for us.
My main problem is that with one cheated election and a new governor, Florida could become a hell hole pretty quick. Can't rely on it staying this good long term.
Tampa is nice and cheaper
Florida is nice, but too hot and humid for my taste. I'd rather stay here and fight. They want my land, well...they can't have it. If all the"refugees" stay and fight for their country, we can finally destroy the plague. Once we clean our own house, we have to track them around the world and cleanse them from their miserable existence. I'm not normally a fan of extinction, but I'll make an exception in this case.
I drove the entire panhandle on the way to the east coast this past summer, nothing but land land land. Rolling hills too.
Been vacationing on the gulf coast my entire life. If our current work situation doesn’t work out, we will be headed to FL 👍
