The head of a digital mortgage lender is getting heat after firing hundreds of workers on Zoom.
Vishal Garg, the CEO of Better.com, asked more than 900 employees to join him on a Zoom call, then told them their jobs were being terminated immediately. The call lasted less than three minutes and comes less than four weeks before Christmas.
A total of 9% of the company’s workforce was laid off, including the company’s entire diversity, equity and inclusion recruiting team.
According to Fortune Magazine, the CEO later accused the employees of “stealing” from their colleagues and customers by only working two hours a day.
The laid-off employees will get severance pay and benefits.
Last week, Better.com received $750 million in cash as part of a deal with Softbank, a (((multinational))) conglomerate.
There's always a silver lining:
"the companies ENTIRE"...
that team must have been specifically targeted, but its too little, too late. they had already recruited 900+ people based on the kinds of "merits" that don't really help this companies bottom line.
'stealing' as mentioned by the CEO in that article is the entire function of those woke communist departments. No benefit to the company, its products, services, clients or staff in any way.
Normally I'd assume the worst about a company firing so many people.. maybe not so much this time. If the woke are gone.. pruned away like a rotting branch, that bodes well for them.
And nothing of value was lost
Hahaha, they laid off the real dindunuffins.
I bet they had every one of those people locked out of the system before the call ended, too. I've worked for people like this. They're inhuman.
You know there is something very smelly about Softbank. Every deal they are involved in goes sideways.
"Anything woke turns to shit!" - GEOTUS.
A total of 9% of the company’s workforce was laid off, including the company’s entire diversity, equity and inclusion recruiting team.
Probably laying off the diversity and enrichment hired seat warmers.
But but but will they still pay of all the bottom surgeries that are scheduled??
I wonder if one of their severance benefits is this?
Sounds like a smart CEO.
This is the case for UBI... We should be doing work if there is work to be done, not because we need money. Bullshit jobs everywhere... Make work and pretend jobs because of the need for a paycheque is where bloat in work has been coming from, and where the marxist ideas have been propagating through... All these, not really that bright, young folk being pumped out of college with social science and lesser degrees, because of the 'everyone is supposed to go to college so they can get a good job' nonsense. UBI would shut up, and prevent a lot of noise coming from purple hair social justice warriors, I wager.
UBI, in this light, if implemented, ought be universal, and cover the basics. No strings!!! If the deep state is trying to bring this out in these times, it is likely to have 'vax' status and social credit stings attached, garbage!, which cannot stand. Freedom or GTFO. But the parasitic bankster debt based, interest bearing 'currency' we have now can't either. A proper way to create money can be, and creating money to give everyone a no strings income has much more Grace than that which put up the 'debt' clock in New York. Money, at its essence is simply a measurement of value, and a medium of exchange. Doesn't have to be so complicated. Our invention, our bitch. No strings UBI would cut out desperation, and thus prevent exploitation.
Universal basic income is a God damned farce.
It keeps dumb asses at home on their butt until all businesses go under. When it then gets cut there is no where to work. What is the result of no work and no income? Starvation, and they get their population reduction.
Get your head out of your ass.
There is no free fucking ride in this world.
Way to be open minded and judging not.
Would you honestly sit on your ass if you were given $1000/month? I know very few who would.
No free ride because there is work to be done... It takes work for there to be food and house. The ride must not depend on whether or not the fed tells us we're running out of inches.
You've got millions sitting on their asses drawing way less than a $1000 a month right now.
Where do you suppose the government is going to get that "free" $1000 a month per person? Print it? Printing money is stealing the life savings of those that work to save.
What the hell do you not understand about there is no free ride?
Money is currently made out of thin air by the central banks, and through by fractional lending by the rest of the banks. Taxes are a farce.
You cant live on two hundred something a week
