Every broker is different. Easiest may be to transfer to fidelity and over to computer share. Fidelity is a quick phone call and they’re transferred in a few days directly in your own name. I’ve heard of some issues with TD. Check r/superstonk for all the help you could ask for with a side of party

That's going to be a terrible investment when either a) none of us ever move back to California, or b) the market resolves itself and homes are affordable again (so their dystopia of renting only never comes about).
Let me explain how this is going to work. I have very little money, and inflation is eating away at it every day. Last October I pulled out of the market because I was sure a crash was coming. I have been patiently waiting for the crash. Eventually, I will give up waiting and get back in the market. Three weeks later there will be a massive crash and correction and I will lose a major portion of my savings.

Like others have said, you need to directly register them through Computershare. Don't trust your brokers.
