Read The Long Walk by Vlad Ravic, a polish prisoner who escaped a Siberain gulag after prolonged torture and WALKED across Siberia and the Gobi desert of Mongolia by himself, with nothing, to freedom.
The problem is how hard it is to defend the innocently accused. That was the main reason the death penalty has become avoided; too many people had their lives ended early only to be found exonerated posthumously.
For some reason people don't seem to care about the innocent, because it becomes defending a pedophile and it's socially indefensible to do so.
There are people here who would deny the right to a fair trial and proper investigation; the mere accusation is enough for them.
That's not the way to do things, and that's why it's genuinely better to keep the death penalty on the table, but only used for very specific and important purposes.
I participated in Pizzagate on Reddit and then Voat when it was banned. I want to see justice. I just don't want innocent people caught up in it, because then it becomes very hard to justify the punishment when it counts.

Adjudication is not perfect, however trial by peers and resultant guilt or not guilty is the best thing. We should never error on the side of caution or it is death by a thousand papercuts.
Up the punishment to physical castration and imprisonment for a long time. That will have the direct result of reducing public acceptance of pedophilias, thus reducing pedophilia, and thus reduce the chance of innocent people being found guilty.
Besides that, the innocent can petition for retrial and have a new jury and judge to be absolved if they are truly innocent.
There will be a generation of humans that passes, before this improves and there will be bumps along the way, but eventually pedophilia will go back to having the stigma it deserves. At least in Western Culture.

It is better to correct than stay the course we are on. How a society treats it children determines the value of a society. And we do not send them off to war at the drop of a hat either. Usually, in the case of pedophilia there is not only DNA evidence, but photographs and video.
