In years past people like this wouldn't have survived very long. Either due to societal norms, wars, or weakness, men like this would have died all the time. But because our lives are now so cushy, so safe, and we have an overabundance of food, these weak, pathetic things that parade around feeling superior to all others are less likely to die. Survival of the fittest now no longer applies, because all of these slugs have everything needed to survive at their fingertips. Shelter, water, clothing, excessive food, and also it's more likely now than in the past that they reproduce before they die.
The only way to cull these things out of humanity is for there to be one giant food shortage and/or wars all over every part of the country and they're caught in the middle of it.
