This is hilarious— first of all I was a single parent ( divorced ) of a type 1 diabetic child starting in 1987– no insurance ( had with ex’s but company would no longer cover) paid cash to get kid out of hospital— cash for insulin, syringes, test strips— everything ( humalin insulin was $10/vial back then and my kid took regular and longer lasting) I hawked a lot of free lance art- t shirt designs and craft shows on top of a full time job ( never occurred to me to apply for food stamps or anything) — moved to big city and pediatrician hooked us up with med school endocrinologist who hooked us up with state funded critically ill etc children— he’s in his mid 40’s now and insulin ( through Obama soared to $850/ vial - down with Trump back up again) is ridiculous— can’t live without it - he’s a grown man over 6’ uses a lot cause of his size. His A1C are great and having Covid was a bad cold/ mild flu— thankfully he and spouse have great jobs and insurance or this would be a train wreck- although I guarantee if you are welfare it’s free - if you were middle class like we were when he was 11 it’d be a disaster

So why did he raise the price of insulin and other critical drugs his first week in office? It took Trump 3 years, waiting on regulations and contracts to expire, to finally get control of the ridiculous gouging prices these MFer pharma companies charge - he finally got it done and in July 2021, people finally had relief, only to have the costs go up 10 times just 6 months later when biden took office.

We do all their dirty work, cook, clean their toilets, drive them around to pick up free trinkets to add to all their other hoarded shit. And how to they say thanks all you task payers...don't ask, it's the worst job ever. Then you have seniors and the veterans. And the government wonders why they can't keep employees. My client asked me today if I would trim his hair and he wasn't talking about the hair on his head!! My last day! they don't pay me enough.
