I think she was just making a fairly techical distinction that Jewish discrimination isn’t based on skin color. That is obviously true and everyone knows it because we use the word “anti-Semitism” for Jews, not racism. Even Jews do that. Nothing she said is actually offensive, she’s just in trouble for bringing up the Holocaust without the required somber tone. It’s like when Owen Benjamin says the Holocaust was actually just nine gay guys in a rollerblading accident, or when he says it wasn’t six million, it was seven million, that doesn’t make him a Holocaust denier but a Holocaust supplier. Even those jokes aren’t actually offensive either, but they aren’t reverent and that’s the problem.
Good point.....but that being said, Hitler/Nazis based their hated on the fact that the Jews were an inferior race of people that needed to be removed from the earth. The holocaust was the activity to remove that race from their presence....
Anti-semitism is the term used to refer to racism specifically against Jewish people...
I think that term "anti-semitism" originated because the extermination of the Jewish people in the holocaust was such a specific event with such a distinct reason that it developed its own specific phrase. But the Jewish race is most definitely an individual race.
Skin color doesn't necessarily define race either. Asians have white skin and they aren't considered part of the white race...
