The North was bringing in tons of imigrants and by the election of Lincoln all the Southern States votes amounted to Philadelphia and New York. Lincoln wasn't even on the Souths ballots at all, and most people of the South thought forsure he would be assassinated on his Inauguration. People in the South were loyal to thier states, a Texan was a Texan, a Georgian a Georgian, this is how the United States is supposed to be, States originay minted their own money, and the money first minted Federally didnt even say America, just The United States. They were all Sovereign, they could all make their own way with the guidence of the Constitution, and that document alone.
