I guarantee you these kids know damn well they can't refuse the masks. There is likely a climate of fear in her household. She is a narcissist and they must appease her. We all know what would happen if one said "Great! I'm not wearing one anymore." They know what would happen to them.

Shame for the kids, but this is just natural selection at work.
