Preventative could theoretically shorten illness even further, but unless you're in a risk group (or have been around someone sick) I'd say it's overkill. Take it as soon as you get cold symptoms.
Friends of mine husband got sick real sick...they called me I told him horse paste they where scared at first they got it...and in 2 days he started feeling much better...they went and bought 5 more tubes....his wife who is an rn took it for a week as a prevention because she was in same house...and there daughter as well they never got sick you can use it this way as well

You really don't taste it, no need to get fancy. Just push out the paste, put in your mouth, and down with water.
