Ultimately, 95% of Americans could go on a 10 day fast with nothing but water and come out better for it.
People need fresh water. People need a way to regulate temperature, and some may require a way to generate electricity for a health condition. Other than that, cooked food is a far luxury.
Thanks for the tips. I recently bought a dehydrator. Now I'll actually try it out. The pineapple and onions sounds delish (not necessarily together). Good, solid info!
"raw food cookbook" Lol, oxymoron of the day! I used to "cook" for a lady who only ate raw food. I used to josh her that she was sure paying me a lot to make salad. On the bright side, there was never a crusty pan to scrub afterwards. Great, high info post, ton of great ideas. That one just made me giggle
Love mine. I buy (1kg) = 2lbs frozen vegetables x 4 each week but every 24 hours you could do this if you have none stored up. Peas & Corn. Peas. Beans. Carrots Mixed vegetables. Each tray will take around a pound. Spread right to edges. Takes around 6 hours up to 9 hours. I start around 10am. Then switch it off after vegetables are snap dry. Leave vegetables until next morning to dry completely. Have clean Ball Mason jars ready to go with lids and bands. I leave on counter and turn them often making sure vegetables don’t stick to jars - sign they are not dehydrated enough. You can put them back in. Peas will do this but most vegetables won’t stick after this time. Frees up freezer and amazing what they dehydrate down to. Soups are ok to throw dried by vegetables in but many dishes will require soaking to rehydrate. Use water that vegetables rehydrated in too
I LOVE dehydrated pineapple chunks. You can soak them in honey water before you dehydrate them, they taste just like candy.
Honey water!?...😋
yellow onions, dehydrate them in one layer about quarter to half inch thick, and when you dehydrate them, something magical happens and they mellow out in flavor and taste soooo gooood especially with honey or cheese.

Reading your entire post made me feel like a McMahon reaction meme.
I used to be an all-raw foodist for like 7 years, kek.
I love raw food. The most impressive thing I saw was a raw food burger made out of sunflower seeds.
It was presented to me as a "raw burger" and it looked like raw meat, so it threw my mind for a minute. 😆😆😆 Once I dug in and saw it was sunflowers, I ate the whole thing. It was really tasty. (inb4 'dat culd nevr taste liek meet') It doesn't, its not supposed to, it's just a fun presentation (like a carrot cake shaped like a carrot).
The zucchini pasta with tomatoes is excellent as well. We're going to have to talk raw food sometime.
😱 Whoa. I had no clue. I just ate the stuff when the raw food people were around.
You just have to remember when you're fasting or eating raw, that if you don't get enough cholesterol in your diet, your body will cannibalize it's own cholesterol. And it will slowly eat away at you. So it's not good to do long-term.
I did keto and IF, so that's not a problem. The craziest thing on keto (besides the mental clarity and the fast body adaptation) was how sensitive I became to the garbage in food.
For example, as a kid, my mom had us on a strict health food diet. I remember eating Fruity Pebbles for the first time and it leaving a light burn in my mouth. Similar to a hot sauce burn, but it definitely had more of a chemical taste and feel to it. I was a kid so it didn't stop me. Never felt it again.
When I went keto for over a year, my body purged itself of all that crap in my body. So when i went back to eating whatever, I picked up a Fruity Pebbles white chocolate bar and I experienced the same burn from when I was a kid. I completely forgot this memory for decades. Thats when the light went on, and my feelings met the data.
Agreed, however a portable gas stove only costs $20 and the gas is super-cheap... so you've got nothing to lose by providing your family with a hot meal during a power outage.
You similarly don't need tea lights at night, however a hot meal and candle lit discussions with your family help their mental health far more than eating cold soup and sitting in the dark.
I bought a small set of iPod speakers and I have an iPod in my kit that is full of classic short stories and Coast To Coast episodes that my kids would love. I've also got several types of solar and manual chargers for them too.
Even if we have ten days of darkness or much longer, I'll maintain structure for the kids and the family will have a hot chocolate and a candlelit story-time each evening before bed.
Proper nutrition mandates you consume food. Your body will slow down its functions and metabolism, which has many effects.
Yes, there is evidence that controlled fasting is good... But we also have proof that long term fasting causes Muslims to go on a Ramadan killing spree.
Your metabolism is important. It's not just about how fast you digest food. You need a good metabolism for many bodily functions, and if you slow that down you weaken yourself.
Additionally, your brain needs glucose. You can get it from gluconeogenesis via protein, but you need to actually consume that protein. Without this, your mental acuity will drop as will your energy levels.
Further, there is no point to weakening your bones and muscles by missing vital vitamins.
Basic biology is not hard to grasp or understand. You need food. You would not "come out better for it" on a water-exclusive 10 day fast. You may not even lose as much weight as you think, if that's what you're implying, because only undereducated silly people still think that weight loss is as simple as calories in vs calories out -- your metabolism is very important for this, and if your body goes into starvation mode then you are not efficiently losing weight.
Finally, you need carbs, protein and calories to build muscle. Without those, you will not build.
At least stock up on good quality meal replacement bars too. They're packed full of stuff, and are better for you than canned food for every meal.

Thank you! I'll try it.
OMG I wish you were my neighbour - you sound like a magician. My mouth is watering just reading that! Off to go google raw food cookbooks right now.

Damn you I just ordered an Excalibur us-made food dehydrator after reading your post lol

The garbage they put in food is total shit.

Practice making fire without matches or lighters whenever you get a chance.

That sounds like fun. "We're going camping, kids!"
Not true. Survival is different than health.

I do a couple of 10 day water fasts and prayer every year. I will consume water, salt, coffee with a little cream, bone broth, and tea.
I spend that time reading the bible and praying. I can tell you I come out better every time.
salt, coffee, cream, bone broth and tea. That is not a 10 day water fast.
You apparently have been doing it incorrectly all these years. If I was scourging for food I would add certain tree leaves to hot water.
Bone broth people. This is a great way to use in different ways………which reminds me.
I plan to just take the goyim's food by force.
