Why would they be? It should be the owner that didn't make their payments.
In a world where the individual is in forced bondage to corporate dictators, that's the only logical possibility.
There are two responsible parties here. You, and the person who didn't make the payment.
If the person who didn't make the payment had made their payment, which was their contractual obligation, the crash couldn't have ever possibly happened. Therefore they are the primary responsible party.
Statistics suggest a human is far more likely to be the cause of an accident than an AI (that has actual evidential support), therefore if an accident occurred, you, the person driver, are much more likely at fault. If there is any question of who was at fault, by a very strong statistical argument, you will almost certainly be the secondary responsible party.
Welcome to the New World Order.
Once Tesla take control and drive it, it's their responsibility.
All fine arguments, but the reality is that responsibility belongs to the entity that has the deeper pockets.
“You will own nothing”
Sounds like a new country song...

Worldwide Social Credit Industry - Infrastructure to Support Social Credit Systems Represents a $16.1 Billion Opportunity by 2026 -
Includes list of companies (inc. Apple, Amazon, Toshiba, and many other Big Names). Tesla's not on the list, but the Elite are definitely planning for a world where [they] can Take Your Stuff under any pretext they decide to use.
Put a locking boot on it. Going nowhere.
He should have disconnected the car from the net. I remember a while back a Tesla was stolen, the thiefs diconnected the car from the net. Tesla responded that they could not do anything about it.
So if you lease it by contract and fail to pay... You should just get to keep it? I get you don't want taps on your stuff, but unless you pay your bills and honor your contracts, I can't feel bad for your choices.
The idea is... You made a comment on social media, your tesla drives away in the middle of the night.

This. Is. Terrifying.
No argument from me . . . Unless the White Hats are planning to put a stop to this, anything resembling freedom will be gone from this world -- for a very long time. Theoretically, we could boycott all these companies but I doubt enough would do so to make a dent.
What white hats
Boycotting doesn't frighten such capitalist oligarchs, not even one bit.
Unfortunately true.
The $ comes directly from the money printer.
As apposed to the freedom to fist-fight the tow truck operator? *stanmarsh.thoughtThisWasAmerica.gif

Asking for a friend..
from Valued Customer to Deadbeat in 60 days
Thanks Elon !!!
Uh, maybe pay your bills moocher.
Think a step or two ahead. They have the technology to literally steal your vehicle. Can you think of other reasons they might think of to use such technology? Did you miss how peacefully protesting the government in Canada just got you frozen out of your own bank account for the crime of opposing a fascist policy?
And what if it's not just governments that had that power, but corporations who have far fewer restraints?
How corporations lined up to toe the line on Burn.Loot.Murder or on the Trans movement? How many corporations eagerly cleaned out anyone who wouldn't take an experimental drug?
And you want these people to have the right to steal your car? To literally just drive your car away remotely at the press of a button?
I understand the technology is there to shut down the car etc. I get it. I won't own an electric car nor do I support the Vaxx or passports. I also don't support purchases that are beyond my budget. This loser deserved to have his car repossessed.
Well the government is collapsing the economy around him so ...
Even moreso if he could afford it but thought he didn't have to pay because he could just keep bills rolling in perpetuity.
This comment reminds me of "I have nothing to hide. I don't mind the government surveilling me."
