Picked up a nice cast Englehard 100 oz bar from jm bullion, for normal price turns out it's a collectors item made in the late 70s. Still a few avalable I belive.
Could be youtube's algorithm. If the video is in a playlist, then that will determine what video follows. Otherwise, it's up to the algorithm which will simply choose a video it thinks you'll watch. Could be that one, or it could be on growing lettuce in the North Pole. All depends what the algo knows about your viewing history.
I ran the first one to the end and as you said it went to a different one, but it played THIS ONE whichI think you said was months old? This is the second one - they talk about relevant topics and go with the first one. https://youtu.be/pixsJh3s9-Y
Silver Maple leafs have smaller premiums and they are more pure than American Eagles (.999 vs .996 I believe). They are also treated so they keep their luster without being proof coins.
Yes, but everyone loves American Eagles and while both are highly recognisable, the most prized are the Eagles. Where I get my coins today they have ONE EAGLE x 1oz for $59.50 Australian when I checked, ONE MAPLE x 1oz for $48.80 and 1 Aussie Kangaroo for $45.30. Now if buying I would buy kangas. I get more for my money. Atm you should be stacking the ‘cheaper’ coins and I don’t mean as in quality, as ALL sovereign coins are 99.9% or 99.99% pure silver as in the Maple and some of the larger coins as in Aussie 10oz coins. Remember, while many will pay that extra, at the end of the day the more OUNCES you can stack the better. Just a reminder. When the price of gold and silver plus other precious metals (PMs) skyrocket it means the world is in a bad way. Those coins you have stacked might be the difference of being able to leave an area where security is non-existent to an area of safety. Getting as many ounces under your belt should be your goal. But make sure the dealer is NOT EBAY, FB etc, but a highly reputable bullion dealer. Any frens on GAW familiar with stacking, please give tips on where to search in America for those considering. . Remember. If you don’t hold it, you don’t own it. Even if you got a group together, drove to a dealer across the country if you can be guaranteed of walking out with it, share gas and driving, I would do it. But getting it locally would be the best thing. Holding a couple of ounces in your hand for the first time is a wonderful feeling. It means FREEDOM away from a corrupt system. Remember.
Agreed 100%! I have been collecting American Eagles since 1986 so you can imagine how many I have stocked up by now. Silver closed at $25.41 today and I was able to purchase 45 Canadian Maple leafs for $31. American Eagles would have cost me about $35 and the dealer I use is completely sold out. I personally believe silver may be worth as much as 10X it’s current spot price. I also have gold but I think there is a larger upside to silver coins. Good luck and stay frosty. These are some interesting times we line in fren.
I watch Lynette Zang https://youtu.be/y_5FE_7-Gik and occasionally Arcadia Economics. They have some pretty knowledgeable interviews from some pretty cluey people. I think it was Robert Kyosaki only recently that said silver could reach bitcoin heights because of its many properties while bitcoin is not really backed by anything tangible. That’s not saying other crypto isn’t and more is being backed by PMs every year, but silver is NEEDED in IT, medical, solar, any dozens of other applications. If you go to the US DEBT CLOCK - Minerals, it will tell you what silver and gold should really be TODAY. https://usdebtclock.org/gold-precious-metals.html
So at last count, I had about 22 pounds of silver coins (pre-1964) in a safe place. Also have some old sterling silver sets I've picked up at flea markets and yard sales over the years. So I'm not sure how an ounce of silver compares to an ounce of anything else like you'd buy at the grocery store, like say goat cheese. I think there is some special units of measure that metal traders use, but I'm not familiar with it. So 22+ pounds of silver would equate to what in dollars at this time? Spot silver price is $25.58 / oz., but is that the same ounce as we use in daily measures? Anybody know?
The silverware, all marked "Sterling," comes from various silversmiths going back to the early 20th Century. I'd have to dig them out of storage to find brand names, but I believe sterling silver, in order to be marked as such, had to contain a certain percentage of silver. But that's just some added pieces, and I don't count them in the stored 22 pounds of coins I have.
Thanks for the definition of the 'ounce'.... good to know.
In a pinch 925 silver or what you have can be used for BATTERING. One silver spoon for say meat or cheese etc. or even bullets. Many preppers have the means of melting down ‘scrap’ silver, ie coins before a certain time, flatware, jewellery etc and converting it to pure silver in ingots. Many videos of it on YT. And I bet most of you would know someone that makes their own ammo. I have no idea about how a silver furnace works, but here is a video.
You know, I've actually thought about that, making my own bars, because silver (and gold too) has a low melting point. But then it got me thinking.... how does one control the quantity in an ingot, one might go over or under a set amount, like a gram or an ounce. And then dealing with others who have their own setup, one might not be able to trust the purity and quantity of ingots from someone else.
So for consistency and known, trusted, and widely accepted barter, I finally figured would stick with coins and ingots I already have from trusted sellers.
For example, if the going price for say 10 gallons of gas was a silver half-dollar (or whatever) then it's an easy transaction. Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm thinking I should stick with known and trusted values.
Looks dangerous to me then you might not have the ability to get a fire that hot. But then if we really go down the SHTF scenario, it will be like living in the 1800s and long forgotten crafts would make a come back. Maybe I’ve been reading too many prepper books. 😂
Yeah I've thought about that too. I can swing hammer and drive nails, know how to fell a tree, build a fire from scratch, cook in a Dutch Oven, field dress deer and small game, and other such "lost" skills. I have collected a lot of hand tools that don't rely on electricity to run. Oh, and I know how to plant crops, tend them, and harvest them.
I guess my wife and I could make it in a SHTF scenario.
Edit: Forgot to add, courtesy of the USMC, I still know how to hit a target out to 300 yards. Just sayin' ...
Skills (physical skills) will get you thru a crisis. We used to own 100 acres of virgin land. We fenced it, built temporary accommodation by felling trees, put in a couple of dams (bulldozer) but we were on a lake so water was plentiful. Cooked food over open fire, and a zillion other skills. Oh how I wish were were still there. Back then we knew this time was coming, but we never expected to live it. God protect us all.
I would hate to own paper silver. So many stories back when silver was experiencing a huge surge after GameStop became a household name overnight. 😄. Stories of many people fronting up to pick up their silver and told there would be months wait. There was a problem at our Perth Mint regarding delivery and many other producers. Stick to physical. ‘If you don’t hold it you don’t own it’.

Good for you! I think I have a couple of ounces of Englehard from awhile back when you could get your hands on many, many different companies bullion.
Hmmmm, part 2 didn't play once the video ended. Do I have to subsribe?
No. I just let it play. Just tried it - I’ll have a search for you - busy atm. 😀
Thanks. I tried that a few times and it went to another video that's 5 months old. Maybe it's something to do with my computer.

Uranium
Interesting didn't know Sprott had a uranium trust. Are they short like silver?

You’re most welcome.

Silver coins are 90% silver so you need to multiply your total spot price by .9 to get actual price.
OK, thanks....also just found out that metals are traded in "troy" ounces, which is a little more than a standard ounce that we are familiar with.
There is a website with this type of data.
It compares the price of goods and services in England of the year 1300 or so.

Thanks!
Troy Ounces to Ounces table
Troy Ounces Ounces 1 t oz. converts to 1.10 oz

It's 14.5 troy ounces to 1 pound.
If my math are right. 22 pound is 319toz minus 10% is around 7300 bux at 25.50toz
Yeah, I had just worked that out and came up with a similar answer, so thanks!
Right now 90% constitutional is going for 21.00ish per 1.00 face value.
Morgans and peace dollars are 25.00ish and up.
Metals use Troy ounces. The troy ounce is the equivalent of 31.1034768 grams, whereas the ounce is the equivalent of 28.349 grams.
AHA! I could NOT come up with the word "Troy" ounce. So then I'd have to calculate based on that... mmm, ok, thanks.
Seems people are selling their paper silver keeping the price down.
Right. The physical reserves backing the silver funds are a small fraction of the actual "paper" silver sold.
