He's not wearing an ankle monitor. He's not even the slightest bit worried about the laptop.
Think about it. The FBI and the DOJ are actively covering up and ignoring the laptop.
Strong point, well made, it's unlikely that he would be part of any investigation when the lead cyber FBI guy didn't even know who was responsible for the laptop. It would make more sense that he not appear arrested, if he were cooperating (something I only put out there is that the only logical reason for someone to lose so many laptops around the world is that he wanted to get caught so that it would all finish.)
My thought was that his pants are baggy enough in each of those pictures that it would need to be video form to see if there was an object or just creasing.
