Norman (via CHAOS) sent several messages to the mods
requesting clarification about his banning. He got no response
and remains unable to make comments.
I didn't see any of them, so it must have been before I was a mod. He's not banned, and it's very easy to make the statement that he can't comment without showing any proof.
Why doesn't Norman take a screen recording of him not being able to make comments and send it to the mod team? Whether its from you or CHAOS, it doesn't matter.
About that link... you're the mod... do your job.
That's not something that I can dig up easily, if at all, so I would assume that you would have that data in question.
I'll tell you one thing though, I'm not going to take orders from someone who makes false accusations or vague threats.
I'm not going to ban you, but I am very emotionally checked out with finding a solution to your problem due to the disrespect of your comments. If Norman gives a shit, he can either message the modteam, or have you or CHAOS message the modteam, with a screen recording showing his username, and his inability to post or comment.
Right now, his account doesn't show having any limits on my side.
If he really wanted to come back, he could easily make a new account and name it "Norman_F_Dixon2" or "Norman_D" or any combination, and we'll know its him by the depth and content of his posts. I'm not sure why he doesn't do this. Again, his IP is not banned.
It should be noted that TDU didn't single you out, or accuse YOU directly for any of the questionable actions taken against NFD. TDU is just trying to figure out what happened and why. These are valid inquiries. But I do also agree with the confusion here regarding NFD. As v8power has also pointed out, according to the public mod logs, NFD is not banned. Last time I received a PM reply from NFD was right around when the initial ban occurred, and that PM has since been deleted. It went something along the lines of "it's not worth the effort dealing with these idiots" (my paraphrase).I agree that it seems odd that if NFD is not banned, he'd be unable to post. It would be great to get to the bottom of all this.
While you're looking into questionable ban issues, can you look into the ban history for ExpertBread / NotExpertBread? There were shenanigans with this standup, brilliant community member before the issues with Norman. Several of us inquired through posts/comments, though much of those seem to have since been deleted. I had a PM reply from a mod that has also since been deleted, in which I was told that it couldn't be figured out which mod banned Bread, and yet later on it was admitted plainly that said mod did know which mod banned Bread ("one of our most active mods") but then when he asked this banning mod WHY he banned Bread, he claimed that he "didn't remember"... if I remember correctly, this might have all happened before there were any public mod logs. If you click on his account, it now says "user deleted their account.". That's weird. ExpertBread was banned. Mod confirmed that. So he deleted his own account, or was it deleted because of his ban? It appears that the account NotExpertBread wasn't deleted, although all of the comments are deleted. The posts are still visible though. Interestingly, I noticed that all of Mitch's comments have been deleted, but like NotExpertBread, the posts are still visible.
Appreciate any research and insights into these strange happenings that you might be able to provide.
Something that I always found odd was that on the public record of mod logs, it always just says "a moderator ____" but it won't reveal which mod did what. Why is that? Is there a reason why the public can't know which mod did what? Is there no functionality on the mod end that tells them which mods did what? A mod once said he couldn't find out who banned ExpertBread, and yet then he stated that he asked the banning mod ("our most active mod") why he banned Bread, and the answer was "herp derp i can't remember", which reveals two things: the aforementioned mod certainly could find out which mod did the banning, and lied about not knowing, and apparently mods could just ban without giving a reason, or the banning mod was lying about "not remembering" why... of course all of this could just have been made up to further confuse and deter questions being asked... who knows? We certainly don't know. Can't know. The site has very little transparency when it comes to the actions of mods...
I think these are all fair questions... Who owns the site? Who pays the bills? Who has ultimate power over the mods? Why is there little transparency about any of this? I've always found it interesting that Facebook will not let you post or message links to GAW using that platform. They claim the website is a violation of their user rules because of "violence" and other bullshit. It's as if "people" don't want this place to be advertised in the mainstream, don't want traffic here... who doesn't want the visibility and why?
This is all just very... mysterious... to say the least.
I take offense to this, because I work hard to maintain this site in my spare time without pay, contract, or any form of compensation whatsoever.
I got the mod position by asking to help. I was a normal user just like everyone else. I didn't know any insiders or anything like that.
You can fuck off with that shit.
Norman is not banned, and he can post anytime. I dug into this because you and his other friends asked in the comments. Again, I did this on my spare time to answer a question for fellow users and I really don't appreciate your accusations.
No mod has ever answered the question why the comment that got him banned was put back into the thread it was deleted?
Send me a link to the thread and point out which comment.
who is behind the .win platform? Who pays the bills?
Great questions. I dont know the answer to them.
But I do know one thing, you dont spit in someone's eye and ask for their help. Watch your tongue.
Just in case you were wondering, u/Norman_F_Dixon isn't banned. I took a look at the account status.
I didn't see any of them, so it must have been before I was a mod. He's not banned, and it's very easy to make the statement that he can't comment without showing any proof.

Firstly TDU is NFD. That is easy enough to figure out.
We encourage mods to make notes when banning especially on older accounts.
