Hey, thinking out loud here... I’m just a simple boy from Southern California but isn’t Tennessee home to moonshiners and bootleggers... can’t we get some Smokey and the Bandit type “runners” to haul ivermectin to the West Coast. You’ve got 72 hours to cross state lines with a trailer full of ‘mectin... but please, avoid Smokey at all costs! 10-4 good buddies.
So will it be in a truck stop in Memphis or will we have to trip into Nashville to a pharmacy with proof of illness to get a few boxes? I wouldn't mind making a daytrip into Tn in order to grab some, but I just wonder what the rollout time frame will be.
I heard NH had a similar bill in their legislature. If more states vote this into law, I'll have to stop getting mine from India & Mexican vending machines.
I found this from April 8, which says "The Ivermectin bill will require the Board of Pharmacy (Board) to establish procedures for providing patients with a screening risk assessment tool, providing a standardized factsheet, and providing either ivermectin or a referral to a pharmacy that dispenses ivermectin."
It may not play out the way you think it will. We have a doctrine in the law where federal law supercedes state law. States may make stricter laws than the federal law, but they may not make less stringent laws, effectively overriding the federal.
Ivermectin is a prescription-only drug under the FDA's authority granted it by the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. I'd be very hesitant to sell it over the counter and risk having the feds come on and throw the book at me for violating federal law, even while following this new state law.
Perhaps there's a nuance here I don't get. That's what we have lawyers for, but my understanding is that this is kabuki theater right now.
It seems a pharmacist will have to have a collaborative practice agreement with a local physician and there will be an assessment of the patient and series of specific protocols under which it may be dispensed. It'll vary based on what the local doc is willing to authorize.
Something about the 10th amendment. Several states also passed laws about firearms that are manufactured in state and never cross state lines. Commerce rules don’t apply. Maybe they want a showdown to prove States are the top authority unless they give some away voluntarily to the feds.
The draft shown in OP’s screenshot isn’t at all the same as what passed. https://legiscan.com/TN/text/SB2188/2021. Guessing they were paid enough to water it down.
It’s already legal in dog pills, horse paste and liquid injectable. A Republican doctor, Briggs, opposed the bill because “there are other approved drugs for treatment of COVID”. Yes he is a total bastard that should be primaried away but the point is that the jab is only approved for emergency use because no treatment exists. Which is true? Both can’t exist
Bet in ten years Tennessee has the lowest disease rates in the nation
But it won't cure our crazy! Yahoo, its Mounain Dew!
Glad I'm in GA. Kind of like fireworks used to be. Every time I take a trip north I come back with a trunk full of Ivermectin.

Take the 10 and I will meet you in Phoenix to pick up my order of ivermectin! Come on, Smokey!
I don't understand what this is...
Where are the other 3,666 pages???
You may have missed my sarcasm.
It's a law. For most of my life, Laws are a minimum of a few hundred pages.
In this case, just because its OTC Ivermectin, it doesn't mean you can't add some pork to "beef" it up.
Wow, I missed yours!
Let that be a lesson to you!
Odds ill be able yo order it on the internet and have it shipped to another state?
Yes! I love my state!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Me too, darlin.

I’m interested in this too. It’s about a 5 hour drive for me to Memphis.
It's about 4 hours drive for me. If any of you find it available for shipping please let us know.

It was sent out last night by local rep whose name you'd recognize nationally.
Asked former colleague and he said his company had already informed him.
That's all I got

Then again; might be a case for the Supreme Court to reinstate Health matters are State matters. . .not under the jursidiction of the Feds or the FDA.
Good point. I had to repeat that many times, " fed law supercedes..." , in my past.
Have to ck into that tomorrow. Thsnks.
So all the states that legalized pot didn’t really? That isn’t what I hear.
Great counter. It's not apples and oranges that you compare. Thanks.

We the people created the States
The States created the Federal Government

Same link originally posted.. looks different, tho?
Perhaps this is better: https://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/Billinfo/default.aspx?BillNumber=SB2188&ga=112. Click the Summary tab and you'll see what I mean.
Well, hell. That just crap. The BOP is just a power-hungry, making racket, with an occasional good move here and there. Thanks.
It is an election year after all.
Ahhh. Yep.

When does it happen?
It was signed 4/22. Not familiar w post-signing timeline
I think section 2 means immediately?
Wow, that's next door. I could drive over and get some. I don't see anything about crossing state lines? Anyone?
It's legal over the counter in Tennessee, and it is not illegal to drive to tennesee, and it is not illegal to possess ivermectin
So yes, and I will definitely be driving 40 mins north to Tennessee to get some
Let us know when and where it is available. I'm just south of Memphis!
