Best way to get a sticky:
Select "Report" under the post desired.
Select "Other" as the reason.
Write "Sticky request" or "needs a sticky" or something of that nature. You can be creative, and it will probably lighten the mood before I review your post.
The reason for this is because I go through the reports daily. When it gets busy, I'm mainly doing reports and not going through the "New" section looking for new stickies. I'll review the requested post and 9/10 times your requests do get stickied.
You can also tag me, or one of the other mods in a post, or send a modmail.
(This next part is for the complainers, not the ones who make friendly suggestions like many of you do)
The most ineffective thing someone can do is complain in a comment. We might never see it, we don't even know about it, and your request goes unheard.
Did realise this was the way. Always just waited and hoped to get a sticky lol
There isn't an official way, but Im telling you guys from my experience, this is the best way to get my attention for one.
Me, either...
I still feel wierd asking for sticky for my own stuff. Might just stick to recommending others get sticky and trust that others will do same when they feel mine deserve it.
I would as well!
Me Neither...I've Never asked once...😁😉
Yep I kinda like it that way.if others wanna request a sticky for my post they can but I dont think I will. I trust God will sticky the right ones needed.
I'm with you there...
No grammar or spelling issues.
Just don't even post a meme with those. You're wasting your time, I will never share them.
You could also just create a rule that mods can’t be stickied. Not sure I’ve ever seen something stickied that was contributed by a mod that somebody else didn’t say as well…
They are incapable of serving as actual mods yet suck at being contributors. It’s a real conundrum for them.
Exactly… Which is why I don’t understand why there’s a sticky regarding Donald Trump calling out Elon musk.
Simply is not true. And yet it’s sticky.
I stickied that. Question: Why would that not be sticky worthy? They're working TOGETHER. How is kabuki theatre understood one day, then taken seriously the next? How are WE the ones taking crazy pills, here? 🐸
Because the title is inaccurate. Trump is simply not calling out Musk. The language is wrong, therefore the post is misleading. Why is it stickied?
"Trump calls out Musk" when the content of the post is not Trump calling out Musk
Hmmm. I see what you're saying.
Wait, I thought you were a ninja master when it came to titles, well thats what you told me in a round about way about 10 days ago..
Please use the report button to report these too.
Report it to the mod who stickied it? You think that one through?
Ffs, you act like we're tyrants. I'm showing you a path to get something noticed.
Let me clue you in on something. We all dont universally agree on everything as mods. We actually discuss things that arent obviously apparent.
If we post something inaccurate, we will remove it.
This is so true. When I had time to spend 4-5 hours a day doings some Q in History posts, they would get stickied for many eyes to see what was happening during that time & get some insight from Anons who looked at those drops as they happened.
Being able to see them a couple years later on a daily basis really helped.
Hoping someone else picks up that torch or that I can free up more time in the next month or so.
Thanks for your great work mods.
🐸
Somehow related topic: there are comments and posts
that say that there are lesser high value contribution posts,
that probably many left this forum,
that there are too many posts that are Q-unrelated
This all could be supported and directed via stickies of those things that really match the wanted criterias. @mods
-> Sticky only that what you want this forum should look like then everybody will strife to fulfill these criteria. This is how our brain functions, we all crave for acknowledgement and success, therefore we like treats like a sticky.
But I see so much crap stickied lately.
It would be so easy to shape this forum the right way.
I’m really shocked that people don’t post here on this amazing site with such phenomenal mods. Especially with all the great modeling of exemplar posts from themselves that they sticky incessantly.
So mysterious. Would never have spotted this coming, say several months ago. What about you cat5 or cat kisser?
Hey frog 🐸
We're doing aiight, thanks
Funny. Abandonware.
Hmmm okay...

That one makes sense. "Interdasting..." gives no indication whatsoever of the content, its just clickbaity
Mmmkay...
I now thank the mod team for all of their excellent work and dedication.
Of ots doable, I would definitely benefit in it.
"Creating catchy titles," is not necessarily the path to the Truth, in fact it has been a primary method of keeping us away from it. I'm not saying there is no merit in your request, but most of the really good evidence I have found does not have an interesting title on it. In fact, most of it looks something like,
That hardly rolls off the tongue.
I appreciate the need to give context, and explain why a piece of information is useful. The other request for that purpose that is currently sticked is very reasonable, putting the burden of easing research on the presenter. If I present something I strive to make sure I present the evidence in a way that people will understand what is being presented and can find it easily, without having to do the hours (or days, or months) of research it took me to find it. Easing that burden on the reader is essential to bring about the "Gestalt of Many Minds" in research.
But this request is less reasonable. It suggests that the burden of presenting the evidence is on the ability of the researcher to advertise. Again, I'm not saying there is no merit to that request, but the entire burden can't be placed there. Some of the burden must remain with the entire society, to look, even when the title isn't super catchy.
I look at anything that even remotely resembles something I am interested in. It doesn't have to be catchy, just topical. Some of the best pieces of research on this board have been "not popular" because of not the best titles. I suggest it is good investigative procedure to look at things, even if the title isn't thrilling. See what is presented, and how it is presented if the topic is interesting at all. I don't rely on headlines, but on topics and the content. It has lead me to some very interesting pieces of information.
I would send a modmail so this gets escalated properly.
