Plants catch up. Don't let feeling "late" stop you. I'm in Wisconsin, so I'm hardening off some of my seedlings. I haven't even put my potatoes in because the weather has been so weird. But I'll fill the garden and the garden will do its thing like it does every year. Life does its thing. So don't worry and go for it. :)

You're right on schedule, unless you're in the south. Get them in within the next week and enjoy your delayed gratification this fall.

Some parts. Southwest planting is late fall, winter thru early spring. Late spring and summer is too hot.

I got my garden in on the 25 of April. Took two weeks for the corn to pop up. Weather was cool so that delayed the sprouting for a week. Half the corn is 12" tall today while the rest is stunted or just emerging. All my beans are popping up, yet the squash I paired with the corn and beans didn't emerge. My veggies are all from Baker Creek seeds and I've been pleased with the results except the squash. Store bought potatoes have done very well. Some are up while others are just now emerging. All in all, half are up and half are just sprouting. But the harvest will be outstanding!!!!

I spent $300 on seeds this year from them. I have some carrots that won’t sprout but the haul of peppers I got from the BC seeds is amazing. Nearly every seed grew into a healthy plant. I’ve been adopting them out to others.

Now I am hobbled with a broken leg so my fa,ily is going to plant them this weekend and I am going to harvest them when Inlearn to walk again.

My onions and garlic are still not planted but it’s only 5 days past last frost in zone 5b.

None of my seed carrots, onions, peppers came up. Bummer, but I got to plant other things in their place. I'm more worried about the racoons and deer. Gotta get my fence up before they smell a delicious green salad and decide to partake. If you ever get a chance to go to BC, I recommend to do it. Their seed room is unbelievable. Several different types of one plant. Too many to make a good choice, but lots and lots of seeds. The ladies handling the store are wonderful and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed my visit.

There are countless fields in my area that are still dead and bare. The weeds won't even grow because of the poison. Many farmers can't afford to plant any crops this year.

Farm next door is just weeds. Usually tons of yellow squash by now.

Got mine in. Plants growing really slowly for some reason.

Wet, cold weather early-on caused me to have to do some replanting, but have a good stand of:

Tomatoes, Peppers, Potatoes, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Turnips, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Green Beans, Lima Beans, Beets, Cucumber, Corn, Zucchini, Yellow Squash, 8 kinds of Watermelon, 4 Kinds of Cantaloupe, 3 kinds Winter Squash, and More..

I do if from heirloom seed. Some of the hybrid stuff may not produce the same variety the next year. I actually have some squash seed that has been passed down in the family for many generations -40lb+ striped "crook-neck" squash. Gramp told me to always save the seed from the largest/best one.

I need to get a greenhouse built to be able to do more spring starts in the future.

Right now, the rain is trying to drown part of the garden again...

I am SUPER LATE as well. My winter crops lasted a while because temps here in TX weren’t going up as quickly as usual. Then life happened & yeah, I’m way behind.

It snowed last night so I have another 2-3 weeks before I can put my seedlings outside. They grow fast when it warms up though even with a 5 month growing season my garden produces more than I can eat or preserve.
