Wow. Pretty sobering. Kudos to the good guy. Just imagine if all the bad guys knew that all the regular Joes and Janes were probably carrying guns.
And totally justified, by the way... he could have been shot because he was a witness.
I like how he looked around periodically, maintaining situational awareness. Not the sort who would get absorbed in a smartphone. Appears to have had a practiced smooth movement to drawing his firearm, and solid form with aim that minimized risk to bystanders. Checked the body and went out to check for accomplices. Amazing composure, much can be learned from studying this.
His buddies were running before it all went down. Almost like they were "WTF? He's actually doing it."
Hopefully their stories afterwards will refer to their ex-friend in derrogatory ways and serve as warnings to their peers. Sadly though, probably not.
I doubt that happens, but we can count on those two never trying to rob a place
Probably not.
Great summary. I was impressed, too. Sort of non-chalant. Wonder what he thought about that night as he went to sleep... the adrenaline having worn off... "I killed a dude today."
"I killed a bad dude today."
Good addition...
Clearly Brazilian off duty police. :)
This is why OPEN carry should be endorsed.
Bad guy walks into a room with a gun to do bad things and sees 100 guns on hips. Hes walkin back out immediately.
A "gun-free" zone.
Like a school
Idiotic. Same complaint about home security.
Dude in a bad neighborhood gets an alarm, sign out front, "Protected by..."
Bad guy comes up. Who is he gonna rob, that house with the sign or the neighbor?
Next thing you know, the entire neighborhood have systems & or signs, their is a neighborhood watch, and the criminals leave for easier pickings.
How is this a bad thing?
That's the point. Let the anti gun people ve his target.
I've worked in several stores over the years. I was robbed at a grocery store twice. Never even had a voice raised at the gun stores I worked at, not to say there weren't unhappy customers occasionally, we just held their custom with good customer service and reasonable accommodation. An armed society is a polite society.
Sign on the inside door of my LGS:
If You Came Here To Rob This Establishent We Will Shoot You
The owner and every swinging dick employed there is a combat vet, three are still in the NG. They all still have sand in their buttcracks and killing one more fool wouldn't phase any of them in the least.
Agreed
