If true, what a disgrace the Navy has become. "In the navy" now means being queer with the caricature of the Village People chasing down sailors.
It's a galactic different place when I served. Any suspected queer was quickly exited out of the US Navy. It wasn't tolerated. One time a shipmate spread rumors about another crewmen being queer. He got wind of it and the rumor monger paid the price on shore. He got beat up pretty badly. That put a sudden end to the rumor.
